So you'd sign a player who left his last club because of a persistent knee injury that prevented him from playing and would prefer him over two fit and uninjured players?
Thankfully fans don't select teams or buy players.
according to Wiki, Gordon's salary at Sunderland was over £2million a year .. no wonder he was let go .. Hamer is a great and very brave shot stopper, however his distribution is getting worse by the game and slows us down, as I said on another post, he's the new Johnnie Wilkinson, great 60 yard touch finders .. Gordon would be expensive but right now Hamer could do with some r&r, Alnwick is no Gordon Banks .. IF we can afford Gordon .. get him .. It is a very BIG BIG IF though.
Ebanks-Blake .. injured and now probably overweight and would take ages to get properly fit and motivated .. a poor man's Fuller .. 4 years ago he was one of the best, alas today his best is well behind him

Thank God! What do those fans know eh? Imagine if they dared to offer their comment on a football forum?!
When / if fit he's a far superior keeper than anyone we've had since Scott Carson. Big IF though.

He last started a match in April 2012 and seems to have not played much for a couple of seasons prior to that date due to some long running knee injury problems. Since being released he seems to have had a couple of trials here and there and mostly been involved in coaching, so I would imagine that he considers that his playing career is over bar some team taking a massive punt on him recovering both fitness and form.
There's no point signing players who are carrying long-term career threatening injuries. I can imagine the complaints here if we'd signed him and he sat in the physio's room while soaking up much needed money that could/should be spent on strengthening other areas of the squad. A non-starter.

Unless the midfield support each other, pass to each other and move forward. Madness, I know, but it works for Barcelona.
That's part of it but even passing teams have players up front that can hold up the ball. The higher you go the more players can do, and the better the team are at keeping the ball on the floor.
If our defenders are closed down heavily sometimes they'll have to go long. It'll only come straight back to the opposition if we don't have a striker that can handle that.

Gordon was a free agent when we signed Alnwick
Slater "transfers" £1m a month into the Club already. He told me so himself so we must be awash with money.

Craig Gordon isn't very good.
