  • Inspirational Welling midfielder Jack Jebb out for the season due to knee injury sustained in last weekends game against Staines.
Really made the midfield tick at Welling, and this could have a serious effect on their season.
From being very upbeat for saturdays FA Cup journey to Woking, I now have my doubts.

What are the entry prices on Saturday, Woking are one of the most expensive non league clubs to visit in recent seasons.

In all seriousness if you go be aware if you go by train and walk through the park on the way back to the station, I have been to two games in recent season (LIncoln and Dagenham and Redbridge there) and the local idiots cherry pick fights with opposition fans, in the park.
Went to Woking with Dulwich earlier this season. Apart from the result (Dulwich won 2-1) it was a joyless experience. Pompous and surly stewards who did bag searches even on young kids and - get this - insisted on opening bottles of soft drinks to sniff the contents to make sure people weren’t smuggling booze into the ground!

Then we were placed in a segregated area (despite being only 160 travelling fans) with no access to a bar and very limited access to any other refreshments. If anyone stood in the “hatched area” at the front of the terrace, or even walked along it at half time, they were told to move to keep it clear for emergency vehicles!

Clearly a club with delusions of grandeur who haven’t yet realised that they’re no longer a National League side - they certainly charged national league prices at £15 entry. As Chippy says above, some of their fans did seem pretty objectionable but didn’t walk through the park and didn’t see any trouble tbf, although I think the home defeat knocked the wind out of their sails somewhat.

At the Lincoln game a few of their morons caused some issue in a pub in the town. After the game you have never seen so many police cars in your life...god help you if you were getting mugged in the town. The Lincoln fans were given an escort out of the ground but were allowed to disperse quickly after..

That's when the local idiots decided to cherry pick the Lincoln fans as they saw them clearly being escorted. I asked a policewoman isn't this a bit OTT and she said, we have a new Chief Inspector and he has ordered it, rolling her eyes.

Unfortunately, I had a feeling they would be in trouble once Paramount Park went tits up. That's the danger with having 1 rich person pumping all the money in at that level, if they get bored the club is fucked!
  • 28/1 to be relegated. I’ll have some action on that.
  • £10 to get into the Woking v Welling game on Saturday

On the contrary - it's very sad - but all too predictable - as I said many pages ago on this thread, why would an apparent mega wealthy man have any interest in a non league Kent football team - answer : he wants to build a theme park next to it

Time goes by - theme park looking less likely

Today - we are told players are not being paid on time - the board has seen departures which were not replaced - coaches now leaving - team is not doing well in its league

This is all paper talk at the moment - perhaps it's not true

However - with money being pumped in over the last few years from a man with apparently buckets of cash - all of a sudden we hear of a lack of money

Has the the Good Doctor got troubles ?

Or has he lost interest now that the theme park is not looking so probable

    We will see of course

But if it is as being reported, guess who will be left adrift - the Fleet fans

Thank God Darts won't allow a suger daddy to take control - we had that with Jim Thompson in the 90's and look how that ended up

Very very sad if it's true re Fleet
  • Some of the comments are interesting on the kentonline site. The chairman apparently denies any serious issue, and sacking Steve Gritt and and David Jupp is just part of a restructure, and another blames it all on Varney.

  • So Varney left as the financial woes started. Methinks he knew what was coming.

  • Didn't one of the ex Charlton lot (?Archer) leave Ebbsfleet a few months back to join Charlton Women, didn't like it and went back to his old job?

    Bet he feels gutted now.

  • Dartford got a creditable 2-1 win at home to Dulwich. Sounded like a great game.
  • Niko Muir scored the winner for Hartlepool in the FA Cup yesterday.
  • Dartford got a creditable 2-1 win at home to Dulwich. Sounded like a great game.

It was a decent match, Dartford deserved the win after being wasteful up front in the first half. Dulwich disjointed in attack and tried to play it nicely out of danger while Dartford just walloped it. Good Dipo Akinyemi opener for the Hamlet, mind. And always a treat to visit Princes Park.
  • I saw a decent FA Cup game at Eastbourne Borough on Saturday. Eastbourne Borough lost 2-1 to Slough. It was the first time I have seen someone score from inside their half live as far as I can recall. The Slough no. 9 looked up, saw the keeper off his line and took a shot. That made it 1-0 after 9 minutes. Slough made it 2-0 after the break but Eastbourne Borough were a bit weak up front despite a late rally.
  • Ebbsfleet drew Cheltenham at home in the cup.
  • Just caught up with the Ebbsfleet news. Was always strange why someone would want to invest so much in a non league club. Puzzled why they've spent so much on ground improvements, only to have to cut budgets affecting the team on the pitch and coaching staff

On the one hand it's frustrating that Dartford have restricted budgets, but after what happened before I'm happy that the club is run on sensible lines

    What a complete twat!!

Seems harsh to have sacked the other player (Marvin Morgan) as well though

    Blimey. I hadn't heard that.

Domabaxe always seemed quite smiley about the place.

Morgan has been a bit of a pain since he joined (he can be pretty rude).

Good job we've just signed a decent striker and a midfielder or we would've been a bit short this Saturday's Trophy game!
