Pards said he will be ready for the next game .... surprised at your second question, wouldn't have thought there could be any doubt.

Straight back in, without a doubt.

reason being Pards has talked HH up quite a bit since taking over, and the defence kept a clean sheet last game.

Straight back back in. HH is solid but slow. Thatcher backs up JT better and is a better LB than HH.

Oh Ben Thatcher (oh Ben Thatcher) he's our left back
Oh Ben Thatcher he's our left back
    AFKA doesn't like him
But we don't care, he's our left back

Our first choice defence has to be Thatcher-Diawara-Bougherra-Young. No arguments.

    ah good point ...

... but I think Pards is on his own though if he prefers Herman to Thatcher

I think so too, but Elk might hag on to the shirt for a while yet.

Maybe he'll go with Elk and Bougherra then. I can't see that he'd spend money we haven't really got on Bougherra then not play him.
Either way it's nice for Pardew to have a selection problem. Too many times in the past, the team has picked itself, now theres competition and that can only be good.

Apparently he wasn't that far off being available for Newcastle, if so I'd stick him straight in and consider moving HH inside for El K.
