Transfer records ...puts things into perspective

Our transfer record 4.75 million for Jason euell over 10 years ago.

We were such a well run club to have stayed in the top flight for as long as we did.

Clubs Spending and spending these days like it means nothing, of course most notably QPR last year.

Even crystal palace made a summer signing for a player in the region of 8 million.

I know clubs get alot more money these days getting promoted etc etc, and to survive out of panic you have to splash the cash but in my opinion it shows no class, just desperation for players that may not even improve the squad.

Fellaini is apparently worth 27.75million...it gets less shocking but that's still bizarrely overpriced.

I'm not saying things that people don't already know, but reflecting on the years Charlton really had something special in how our club
Was run. From top to bottom...

It all went tits up with the arrival of dowie and a load of other idiots but we should look back on the years of staying in the top flight with pride in how we done things proper way in terms of business and everything else.

Everyone involved with Charlton needed that boost from last Saturday. It has certainly helped.

Bring on Watford ....and welcome Cameron Stewart.

  • Well said. I know it was a long time ago and times have changed but still think we did extremely well spending very little. Curbs always was the king of bargains
  • Chris is making the best out of an awful situation. Fans are slating Stewart because he only has one goal but he's a winger so I'm not fussed by that, as long as he can put in a good cross!
  • To be honest kermogants record wasn't exactly stunning before joining charlton so I won't judge until 10+ games in a red shirt.
