"We're in a place of adversity" is quite a deep and telling statement.
Maybe it tells us we're out the cup and have no league wins?
Maybe, but "adversity" is a strong word and I wouldn't normally associate it with just a bad run of form.
Why go with a calm answer when a hysterical one will do? On the balance of probability I would say it is more likely that CP is refering ro stuff on the pitch, which he is in charge of, rather than stuff of the pitch, which he isn't. But I guess that's why my head is stuck in the mud (if only we had more sand).
