  • Puddle by East Stand: 9 (great tackle)
Puddle in goalmouth: 1 (Shocking defending)
  • Referee Lee Collins- 0
terrible decision to bring players back out after initial stoppage
  • Hamer - 5... Couldnt have done much about the goal but needs to communicate more (Morrison kicking the ball away when Hamer when to fall on the ball lead to the second)
Solly - 6... Looked better, struggled to see the little fella through the rain
Morrison - 5... Get Jacko back as Captain, I think thats what is wrong with the defence (i.e. he's gotta command the team AND the back four)
Cort - 6... Was commanding and won a good number of headers
Wiggins - 5... Spent far too much time moaning with Morrison about the first goal
Pritchard - 6... Linked up well with Solly, should have had a goal
Gower - 6... Best performance from him so far this season
Cousins - 8... MOTM, hardest debut possible but didnt look out of his depth
Harriott - 6... Did a lot of running and tested the GK but should have passed to Church at one point who would have had a tap-in
Kermorgant - 6... Put himself about, did some good through balls, like Solly was better today
Church - 7... Ran the channels, got his goal, great freebie from CP

Looked lively going forward, very slow & disorganised at the back

  • We can feel some positive vibes about both Cousins and Harriott, but judging the players today is a challenge, and harsh to criticise them. The players who tried to simply get on with is, despite everything, they are the ones who get my admiration today. The players who got stroppy about the situation need to have a word with themselves.
I have repeatedly said that if we don't have millions of squids, then promoting the youth players makes logical sense. So far this season the fleeting glimpses of Piggott and Cousins, and the further development of Harriott, and the established player that Solly now is, suggests that calling on the youth isn't the worst plan in the world. For me better than an endless stream of anonymous loanees. Even if they are no good, they are OUR no good players, not the likes of Frimpong. Anyway what is coming through our ranks is NOT no good players.

  • Hamer- 5 not really to blame but did nothing apart from pick the ball out of the net
Solly- 6 better than previous weeks
Morrison- 3 not the same player as we are used to seeing. Seems to be lacking confidence.
Cort- 5 not good, not terrible
Wiggins- 3 going through his worst spell as a CAFC player, not sure he will be here in 2 weeks.
Pritchard- 5.5 very unlucky not to score. Struggled with his first touch at times but not that bad.
    Gower- 5.5 ok
Cousins- 7 MOM looked the part.
Harriott- 6.5 unlucky also not to score. Gave their defence plenty to think about.
Kermogant- 6.5 won his flick ons, got their man sent off. Looked up for it.
    Church-6.5 well taken goal.

Defence was a shambles. Reminicent of Notts County at home in 2012. Yet we seemed to create a lot going forward and could have easily been 2-3 or 3-3.

Funniest moment was the groundstaff getting boo's from the crowd when trying to empty the pool in the goalmouth!
  • They were in no rush though.

Was thinking this myself when we went 3-0 down... Lets hope we bounce back the same way

Some of you lot are deluded we were 3-0 down at home to Doncaster after 25 mins yet they all get 6s and7s. good job is wasn't 1-0 when it got abandoned otherwise they would all have got 9s and 10s
  • Very hard to comment, but Cort and Morrison have a lack of pace and confidence that is very worrying?
Not sure I could play in a team with Hamer, who seems to bitch about every goal he concedes.
Try stating on your line mate, or if you come out collect it?, not look to dig out your team mates.
Saying that a nightmare for keepers, but Doncaster's did alright?

Morrison and Wiggins were all over the shop first part of the half. Dunno wants going on in Morrison's head just wasn't at it.

Watch Morrison on both the 2nd and 3rd goals. Dreadful.

Depends how you score it, I have a 7 as alright and 8 as good.

certain Hamer would not want you in the team either, first goal was just bad defending along the back four, he had every right to have a go. Next two goals down to the pitch

Hamer 6 -could not be blamed for the goals
Solly 6 - occassional flashes of his old self after the suspension of play.
Wiggins 4 - really off form - replace with Evina. Maybe transfer talk is unsettling him. Was excellent last year, what is happening this season ?
Morrison 3.5 - Is not a captain. He should be concentrating on defending. Needs to sit out a game or too. Clearly off form and got taken apart by Theo Robinson. Did not handle the conditions well.
Cort 5.5 - asleep for first goal.
Harriot 6.5 - some bright spots, difficult to play down a sodden wing
    Gower 6 fairly anonymous
Cousins 7.5 - The only real bright spot in the day. Will really look forward in seeing him with Johnnie Jackson in midfield.
    Pritchard 5.5 - fairly anonymous
Kermorgant 6 - better than against middlesborough
Church 6.5 runs around with energy - the goal looked offside

Bizarre game - and bizarre sending off. We got away with it. This time.

The balance of the midfield was better today but Chris Powell needs to find a way to motivate the players in difficult contractual and skint circumstances.
