They are all out of contract at the end of the season so would not be surprised to see one or two go before the end of the window as clearly the owners are not keen on offering new deals.
If the contract situation remains the same, expect a fire sale in Jan to avoid the players going for free in the summer.
Would also explain a couple of the individual performances yesterday, players looking like their minds were elsewhere and possibly knowing they will be gone in a couple of weeks.
If this is the case, and I have no idea if it is true or not, then I would doubt how much longer CP will stay. He was asked to build a team that would get us out of League 1, which he did, and then compete in the Championship, which, after a few hic-cups last season, he did and we finished a very credible 9th. Looking at things from a distance, and all the information and rumour that was about yesterday (VoTV article, MS not completely denying anything, normally reliable players all having mares and the situation about Button being sold without CP knowing) then I would suggest that if the player sale is true and CP doesn't agree at losing some of his better players what would be the point in him staying and trying to work with a paper thin squad with, pure conjecture here, trouble in the boardroom and no funds? Things are clearly not good but a final nail in the coffin could be enough for CP to walk, then what will TJ and MS do, afterall they can hardly turn to Mr Wise can they!!!!

Can't imagine anyone will pay decent money for players that are free in nine months
Which might mean we need to sell more than one or two ?
Perhaps, but (and this is totally hypothetical because I'm not sure I believe bids are on the table) for the four players named I think we'd struggle to raise a couple of million in fees.
To be honest I'd imagine the players themselves would rather wait until next year when they'll be free agents with much larger signing on fees and salary capabilities.

I can well see this being true. On yesterday's performance it would certainly explain some well below par performances. My own personal opinion is that CP will go next summer if only because if the current owners are still in situ they will feel they can get someone in on half his salary so cutting costs further, unless we go up when he might stay.

Mr Poyet ?
Would Gus come to a club with no money and in a tailspin though. Can't see it. I doubt we could attract Phil Parkinson's back ;0)

I am told Tony Pulis was at the game yesterday as well.
All a bit gutting really, if true. Sales and change better than going out of business, but a pity (probably been said a million times before) that we do not appear to have ambitious owners out of football interest like so many other (read most) clubs. Good luck on getting a return from a business perspective. Blind Freddy could see that this was nigh on impossible unless enough was invested to get us promoted to the promised land before a sale. A ground sale is another way and now appears to be being mooted based on the other threads and VOTV. Hmmmmm!
VG - completely agree. We simply got outplayed by a mediocre team that held the ball far better than us yesterday. We were unfortunately powder puff in midfield and that put us under the kosh for long spells. The coaching team have work to do this week before Barnsley and Doncaster and they will know this.

If they want a certain player now based on last seasons performances then people will pay... it's a tight division and strenghening your weakest position can make all the difference

But with FFP I can't see many paying over the odds, particularly when they know we're brassic.
How much would you realistically pay for say less than a season of Rhoys Wiggins ?
Last day of two weeks leave from work, yesterday's result and performance, moving from the Valley (possibly, maybe), opening this thread and thinking on what-ifs and worse case scenarios. Why the hell do we do bother putting ourselves through it?
Every transfer window we seem to have the 'worry' of players leaving, last summer was the summer of Solly being sold, it didn't happen, and I'll be surprised if all the names mentioned will be off , if we did sell them all , we might as well go into admin and take a 10 points deduction, and gear up for life back in League 1 , hand the keys over to the Valley whilst we're at it and groundshare with Ebbsfleet or Millwall, relax people it might not happen!
All this leads me to believe that the board think/hope a deal for the club is close. This situation cannot carry on much longer and they're hoping it will soon be somebody else's problem.

I wouldn't rule ANYTHING out at present.

Players can just have off days.

Feels like a proper wrist-slitting Sunday.
