We get the occasional robin... and Jays, which are pretty cool

As soon as I in from work knackered last summer, my missus, without even looking up, said, 'Can you get the dead jay out of the paddling pool?'

At least it wasn't Michael Barrymore asking you to get the dead gay out of the pool.
    Just spat out my coffee
  • If we continue this we may shed the train spotting tag? ha

Nah, we could organize a bird-spotting day out on a train somewhere.
Two for the price of one :-)

    Jays are extremely cool :)

  • Red kites above our garden in the Shropshire Hills, the robins looking a little nervous
  • Is that on Palarse's new badge?
  • Find another one Saturday morning we want another good sign.

  • Is it a Dartford Warbler?

    Or a Gravesend Guzzler?
I went out with her in my younger days

I do like a Robin, but definitely prefer Tits.

    Tits like coconuts...

    ... and robins prefer insects.

Not a bird but had three of these round our fuchsia at the weekend. About 8cms long, the Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillar.
  • I had three of those with some pilau mangsho at my local Vietnamese restaurant at the weekend

pretty sure I saw a Red Kite at Oxleas recently

(cue a visual gag by CL comedian)
  • That's a cracking photo @LargeAddick - caterpillars have always fascinated me since I was a child and I remember seeing warning signs at the beach about the furry one that can hurt you!

Quite possibly one of the most overlooked but diverse little critters that we take for granted IMO.
