"It means that [play-off hopefuls] Charlton Athletic, where Chris Powell continues to impress...will enter the season with something approaching quiet confidence."
First mention under play-off hopefuls in the Guardian Championship Preview. Jacob Steinberg knows what he's talking about, but I can't help but feel - following on from FourFourTwo having us down to finish 4th this season - that the media's estimation of us may be somewhat over the top. Good to see SCP getting the recognition he deserves from outside the club though.

  • I think that with the exception of maybe the relegated clubs that this is again a very even league and with the right start we could better our 2012/13 position by three places.

the two upfront additions, if we can get them firing, offer options which we may not have had last season and the passing that Gower displayed in the last game of last season offers reason for hope that he and Sordell will buld a strong partnership.

If we can improve our home record and maintain 75% of our away record then I believe we will get the play offs. I'm not saying it will happen but I am more confident than I was fivedays ago or this time last season

  • Just a shame that no-one reads the Grauniad
  • Racing Post didnt mention us once in any article, which i take to mean they think we'll sit right in the middle.

I've got us each way in the 3.20 at Ascot.

    That'll learn them.

    :)

Ah but its also a quality website these days and the guardian weekly is a decent round up of global opinion. Sure the Grauniad will always be full of errors and omissions but I find it favorable in comparison to some of the dogg shite media out there

this article fails to take into account the transfer dealings of most clubs. Hence Brum are too high and millwall and Barnsley get glum outlooks. Blackpool and charlton, id also say may be over pitched.

  • we will win the league
  • Hell yes coyr

nice positivity, its dem big balls again

I hope so, NLA. Dare say that would solve the contract problem too!
