  • dont like to see any club in this state. bad times.
  • Newco Coventry?
  • AFC Coventry will arise from the dust of the collapse
  • So what does this mean for the following season? 23 teams in the league, one less team relegated and one extra team promoted from each division to fill the gaps?
  • Feel SO sorry for their supporters

What a start to the new season.
  • Vg they will reappear unscratched shite hole city and club I don't care for them at all no tears will be shed by me
  • Ha, I'm not sorry for them at all. I remember their crowing to us about being in the top division for decades, theyt were particularly condescending and I hope they are actually thrown out of the Football League and have to start again non league. But probably a way to keep them will be found.
Hubris, guys, hubris. It might take a while but it finds you out eventually.
  • Sad news for the fans of Coventry
  • Coventry are actually two different companies. Ltd and Holdings. In real terms what this liquidation actually means is minus 15-30 points and all home games played at Northampton.

They won't go under as the company being liquidated transferred all assets and is effectively worthless.

That would have been my guess but online reports saying 15 point deduction
  • Southampton were penalised 10 points four years ago. The club has prospered ever since

  • A 30 point deduction effectively does mean a delayed relegation and even 15 points is difficult to come back from .Five years on and Luton still have not regained their former status.

If Coventry can get back to the Ricoh then next season they can start a rebuilding process. If they remain at Sixfields it will be impossible for them.

    Same with bournemouth, Rotherham etc...

Surely the team can't start the season ?

Mostly because a Swiss billionaire bought them.

The same could happen to Coventry I suppose.

A sad day for the city and their fans.

You've never mentioned it before mate, care to expand?

& I remember all your crowing to us about you being in the premier league, laughing at us almost going out of business, the constant sniping, prejudiced views & remarks etc etc.

But would I love to see you go out of business? No. Wouldn't want to see that happen to anyone.

No no no , we're all angels.
  • Hope they sort it out, sad to see
  • Well I've never 'crowed' about us being superior to Millwall.

There's absolutely no need to point out the patently obvious.
  • Feel sorry for the fans and the small companies/charities that'll get knocked.
  • Why so spiteful. Sad really. Luton had 30 deduction and as you lot all say prospered ever since. If it really worked liquidation would be a solution for all. Trouble is it only works if everyone does it to start on -30.

You could copy and paste that on every football team's message board though surely? "No one likes us" etc...

You must of needed a big ladder to get on that high horse.

    Laughing? I was praying :0)
  • Pretty much agree with you Sparrows. They were foul fans, even in the family enclosure, and very very foul police force. But I wouldn't want any team to go under.
  • I am surprised at the gloating on here considering our plight in the past and dare I say it what is ahead of us. When things get this bad you have to park the football rivalry to one side and think of the fans, small business's and employee's who will be affected by this mess.

Whilst this is a bad day for Coventry it drives yet another nail in football's coffin.
