One thing that sets Charlton Life apart and above other fans' web sites is our Players Marks after each 1st team match and the resulting Statbank. So here is a gentle reminder of how it works:
Players Marks
After each 1st team match, be it League or Cup, we put up a thread with a list of the players involved in the game and ask those of you who were at the match to mark them. When a match is televised in full those of you who watch the live stream can also put your marks. Any player who completes 30 minutes on the pitch is included in the marks and marks should be given between 0-10 with half marks allowed. How you arrive at those marks is up to you and different Lifers have many differing ideas on how this should be done, but each is right in their own way and is individual to you. Some Lifers also put remarks about the performance of the players and whilst this is very useful to those of us who weren't there it is not something you have to include.
To help me compile the stats please keep to the order of players in the list. For a Saturday game the thread goes up early Saturday evening and remains until Monday lunchtime, for a Tuesday evening game it goes up that evening and is closed on Thursday lunchtime.
Statbank
From your marks I then work out the average mark for each player and Man of the Match is awarded to the highest average.
The marks and other statistical information is then presented in the Statbank which is published in a thread on Monday or Thursday evening. For the first few matches the stats are minimal but as the season progresses they become more detailed. League and Cup matches are kept separate.
Some of the stats I obtain from the official Football League stats but I do not use their idea on who makes an "assist" for a goal and instead use the video of the match or the OS report.
This season I have revamped the presentation of the stats and shall try a few different things during the first few matches and I would be grateful of your feedback.
The players marks is the most important part of the stats and is only meaningful if as many of you as possible contribute. With the rest of the stats please let me know what you want to see and what you don't.
Here's to a great season and lots of 8s and 9.5s and maybe the odd 10 !

I think team and overall performance is reflected by the overall average of all the players. As watching fans I don't think the majority of us know enough about the actual managerial input to give it a mark, however if a substantial number of Lifers want this included then I will do so.
Big thank you to LL for continuing to man the engine room for this, and please do regularly participate with proper contributions. If you think someone has been stupid with their marks, just ignore it and post yours. The averaging sees that the stupid ones carry little weight if we get enough marks.
