i think if sordell and church score around 20 between them this season then add in yanns 15-20 and also the goals from midfield namely jackson we will have a good amount of goals and with a solid defence things are looking up
as strikers usually score against their old clubs then we should get 6 from Church (Reading, Hudds and Yeovil) and 2 from Sordell (Watford as I guess he won't play against Bolton) so that's 8 to start with
mightily pleased & relieved we've add both Sordell & Church and with 7 subs I would hope CP will start with Yann & Sordell & have both Church & Piggott on the bench for Saturday.
I would like to add one more striker, but that can wait until end of the transfer window now.
I do think Yann will be getting more goals this season. He seems to have really settled into his role in the team and I imagine if he continues playing a bit deeper and has Harriott getting the ball across the play can develop more around him and he will bang them in. I was already excited about this season but I really think Sordell is a great signing. If only we had him on a permanent deal

I'm off for some of that humble pie.........
For once I find myself agreeing with you Golfie. I've been impressed with Piggott.
Hope Church doesn't prove a panic buy! 7 games 1 goal on lone at the udders last season. Hope Sordell doesn't prove a panic loan! 25 games 4 goals for Bolton last season. Neither have ever been prolific.

“If I worried about what other players have done at other clubs I wouldn’t have half my squad.
“Yann’s experience at Leicester to what he has done here, Michael Morrison what he done at Sheffield Wednesday to what he has done here, I could keep going.
“It is what they do here and I what I say to them and what they want to do."
We were never going to sign someone that's been prolific for years. We've signed two players that should do well at this level if Powell can get the best out of them.
I'm happy with the two signings but we can't go around forever signing players with terrible records just because Powell has previous of making a few of them good. Not that I think Sordell's record actually looks bad at all.

What strikers are available with a great goal scoring record?

I bet not one of us is quite as pleased about this as Yann! After the testimonial/friendly the poor guy must be dreading an entire season of being manhandled up front alone with no support to be found, his frustration was obvious and understandable. Kermorgant/Sordell is potentially an absolutely lethal combination, and if Church really does turn out to be a rough diamond for CP to polish we could be in for good times ahead.

Obviously we all hope he does well, what he needs is regular selection and I think he'll be brought through slowly to allow him to get that match fitness back without the pressure, assuming that's possible. He'll also need us onside, all players do. He moved on to get regular football not because he was not offered a contract, so he's keen as mustard to play. Obviously Hoofersfield was not to his liking, never mind we've got him now, keep the ball on the green stuff and who knows what will happen!

Yann Kermorgant:
2009–2011 Leicester City 20 (1)
2010–2011→ Arles-Avignon (loan) 26 (3)
If you take stats at face value then Church (7:1) is better than Kermo (20:1), and so is Sordell (6.25:1) for that matter.
How everybody's mood can change !
