Whats everyone backing before the season starts next week ?
I fancy Wolves to bounce back up this season as champions. 4/1 is a good price. Reading to be promoted at 3/1, I'm planning to back. Crewe and Blackpool to both be relegated.
I've gone for Man Utd (12/5), Watford (12/1), Peterborough (9/1), Portsmouth (9/2), Luton (9/2), Celtic (1/50) and Rangers (1/16) to win their leagues.
I appreciate that this is, to a degree, after timing but, of all my ante post bets (and I do have a few of these!) I have a couple of decent chances running for me:
Placed 01/08/13:
Chelsea @ 9/4 Premier (current best price 7/2) Leicester @ 14/1 Championship (current best price 6/4) Brentford @ 9/1 League 1 (current best price 6/4) Fleetwood @ 7/1 League 2 (current best price 7/1) Luton @ 9/2 Conference Premier (current best price 8/11)
All E/W 1/4 1,2,3 bar Premier League which is 1/3 1,2.
Placed 02/12/13:
Chelsea @ 7/2 Premier (current best price 7/2) Leicester @ 12/5 Championship (current best price 6/4) Brentford @ 15/2 League 1 (current best price 6/4) Burton @ 14/1 League 2 (current best price 10/1) Luton @ 7/2 Conference Premier (current best price 8/11)
Straight £10 E/W Acca = total stake £20.00
E/W Terms - Premier & League 1 1/3 1,2 with Championship 1/5 1,2,3 and League 2 & Conference Premier 1/4 1,2,3.
Usually at this stage of the season I can put a line through one or two of my selections but I am, admittedly with my optimistic punter's hat on, hoping for some sort of return ;-)
Having said that, one can see by the drastic shortening up of Brentford and Luton since placing the second bet some five weeks ago, one can see how a good (or bad for that matter) run can have a massive affect on prices.
After tonight's result, the (almost) £250,000 dream lives on ;-)
