Anyone else see this? Who fancy's getting sunburnt?
http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/20130708-help-get-the-valley-ready-for-201314-901718.aspx Maybe the club should get the players to carry out these type of tasks. After all they do get paid to work for Charlton!!

Ew.
Mick E & lovely Jan Martin looked after us really well & insisted on lots of water breaks whenever we felt the need. "Home made" sarnies, crisps, muffins , tea, coffee, soft drinks for lunch in an air conditioned suite to set us up for a further couple of hours.
We were told to leave any time after 3pm as it was SO hot but TBH the lower West was mostly in shade in the afternoon and much more comfortable. However, just after 3 we had completed half of the area we were tackling and called it a day.
Steve Bradshaw popped down to thank us for our hard work and we received a Thank You by email this morning from Mick.
Contrary to previous info , everyone volunteering is offered a free ticket to one of the early doors home games at The Valley - we opted for the Oxford Cup match as our season tickets don't cover this one. Anyone working for 3 sessions or indeed 5 sessions will be offered a further incentive, yet to be revealed.
We are all only too aware of the financial cutbacks at our Club and the staff involved are using their limited budgets to the best of their abilities to maintain the high standards at the Club. I think we have only glimpsed the tip of this current, enormous iceberg....thank goodness for all those loyal employees that remain in post.
Whether you agree with the use of volunteers for this kind of maintenance is not the point. The bottom line is that OUR Club needs US in these difficult times. And what we do to help does not go unnoticed, believe me.
So, whatever your circumstances, if you can possibly offer your services from circa 10.30 - 3/4pm tomorrow, Mon, Tues, Weds and possibly next Thurs, PLEASE get in touch with Mick at mick.everett@cafc.co.uk and join with fellow supporters in making our ground a better place.
( You might just be on site when THAT new signing is revealed to the waiting press on the hallowed turf...if Paddy P allows !)
I would pop down but don't have any hols left, in fact negative numbers..
But you'll be doing your bit on the Trust stall on Sunday.
