... and Palarse are lining up Inter Milan. Our friends from north of the border will wonder why you don't count Inverness Caley Thistle as a "big" team! Personally, I'm not bothered about being humiliated by Real Madrid for 60 sovs - as proven last season, we can just as easily lose at Gillingham for a tenner. I like going to those small grounds I haven't done before, like AFC Wimbledon....
I don't get why people care - pre-season for me is about getting the players some match fitness, not about expensive friendlies against Real Madrid's third team.
Think it was AFKA that made a good point when ICT friendly was announced - that type of opposition is much better preparation for the Championship than some of the European teams we've played over the years.
Usually come away from those friendlies saying that team were very comfortable on the ball and passed well. Very different to most Football League sides.

Agreed but then why not fix up against one of the just relegated championship sides.
This has been done to death. Big sides demand a big appearance fee. Big sides will attract loads of associated matchday costs. We haven't got a pot to piss in, why would we organise a game that will in all probability see us loose a significant amount of money?

When I used to play tennis, playing better players improved my game, playing crap players did the reverse. Just saying.
