keen to stay next year, which is good, although I didn't like the suggestion that his club may not want to sell him I thought (assumed perhaps) that we had one of those loan deals where we can buy him for a fixed amount if we so wish

Comments

  • The article mentions extending the loan rather than buying him.
  • the lad has something, get him on a permanant now before someone else tries to.

The Chinese will be very interested in him staying here, its great for the expansion of their game.
  • That's spot on AFKA. The Chinese are massively keen on showcasing their talent to the world and there is no way that the powers that be in China will allow his club to block a move to the highest profile league in the world. We will have to pay a fee for him though, hard to say how big.
  • I'm pretty sure when we signed him we had a purchase option.
  • That's what I had thought ... looks like we are right

"The deal, which comes into effect when the transfer window opens next Monday, also gives the relegation-threatened club an option to make the 26-year-old midfielder's move permanent."

"He joined Charlton Athletic on loan on December 29, 2006 until the end of the season, with Charlton having an option to buy him. He scored 21 goals for Shandong Luneng as they won the national league title earlier this year."

"The 26-year-old central midfielder arrived at the club on Monday in a loan deal from Shandong Luneng that will keep him at The Valley until the end of the season.

As with Pouso he's signed first on loan deal to see if he can make the grade and then Charlton exercise the option in the contract, or in Pouso's case they don't. From what I've seen I'd sign him.
  • I think the Option to Buy will only be exercised if we stay up as it is for around £2m.
  • Oh no, Frankie Valley's least favourite purchase price!

Does put it into context though...
