BBC4, 9pm tonight. Shown first in 2005. Superb documentary about the great man, for any who missed it first time around.

Followed by a documentary about underground soul hero Charles Bradley.

Cheers mistrollingin, will be tuning in. Have a feeling I saw it first time around, but love the guy's voice and work. There's a good reason What's Going On? is often ranked the best album of all time. Superb album, songwriting and tunes.

Can't argue with that! So many excellent programmes about the music I grew up with in the 1960's and still love and listen to today.

Wonder if Georgie Fame or the great Zoot Money will ever feature?

As I write this "Helpless" by the sublime Kim Weston is blasting out of my office cd player.

Did anyone see "across 110th st", the bobby womack documentry last week.

    More excellent stuff.

Also had an Eagles two parter and a disappointing california comes to OGWT.

BBC4 does have some good, non-mainstream stuff and not just music.
