Dad started supporting Charlton in the 1930's and his last match was the last game of this season against Bristol City. He said due to COPD he would give next season a miss. I bought his ticket anyway so East, C, Q 128 was still his for next season. Gutted that Palace won on Monday he said he might give it a go. He always talked of Stuart Leary and Sammy Bartram and had great memories of being left in the ground and taken home to Well Hall in a police car before the war. Dad collapsed and died this morning at 7am. He said he wouldn't make next season, he was right. RIP Dad. SCP will deliver next season and we will dedicate promotion to you. X

5 minutes ago I learned that Sir Don ( who drives us many miles each season to away games) had also lost his Mum today .
You dear Dad will be watching from his pitchside seat in the sky, never fear.

He would've been at the games my Mum went to (she stopped in the 40s I think, sadly I can no longer ask), cherish the memories.
RIP Bert
