Great goal great player and he turned down Celtic to stay at SE7! The blokes a bloody hero!

Kermy knows we took a risk in signing him after his disastrous time at Leicester and I think he was keen to repay this faith. He is loved by the fans and I can't see him rushing to leave unless he is offered silly money.

  • Kermorgant, what a player, got him off the scrap heap for nowt and now a top Championship striker.

Makes me even angrier that Pardew spunked millions on Varney, McLeod, Gray et al, none of whom are even close to our beautiful Breton.

    Lol.

Although it was a great goal, I think if the chip (that hit the bar) had gone in, it would have been even better.

By far the most talented (technically speaking) player in the squad.

My love for Yann will never fade..................
  • Kermy has to be my favourite player of recent times.

Can't see it myself , but have been told hurned down a £3m move to Celtic with a substantial pay rise - personally would have thought it was more closer to a million either way
  • Big rumour that Leicester want to loan him for the play-offs.................
  • Sat at the back of the East yesterday, towards the covered end, brilliant view for all 4 goals...great end to the season, and the drink after in Greenwich wasn't bad either.

In the east too near the covered end opposite the tunnel, the telly doesn't really show how good that strike was, looking at it square on, added to how Yann 'addressed' the opportunity, it was a strike of the highest class. All four of our goals in front of the home faithful were treats.
  • Definitely for me, the best signing we have ever made. I realise he hasn't played for us at the highest level but I take that into account.

Last season he was the difference between a decent season with perhaps a play of spot and a record breaking season.

This season but for injury I think he would have been ever present and we would have reached the play offs.

I just love watching him play - skill and heart combined. Vive La France!

Didn't know you could do that before the playoffs. Will probably get them up if that's the case. I hope if he does that he doesn't sign permanently with them. Would be a huge loss to us.

And to think, there were people last season wanting him dropped for Paul Hayes as we apparently played better football with him

    Sacre bleu !!

Spoke to someone last night who is working on Yann's new house in Greenwich. Said he SO loves being at Charlton & can't wait to live closer to the Club.

I remember that fantastic myth that BWP scored more goals with Hayes and his dip in form was all down to playing with Kermo. In fact, in their first 10 games each along side him he scored almost exactly the same amount of goals, and his dip in form simply was down to missing the (many) chances Yann was putting on a plate for him.

  • Even earlier this season when our form wasn't great there were people saying that he couldn't make the step up and we resorted to hoofball with him on the pitch, as if a Yann-less team would be playing Barcelona-esque wonder passes. The fact is you can always rely on Yann to get goals and put in the effort. Love the man
  • You can all say what you want about Yann but there's one thing you have to remember....

I love him more than you do
  • When Yann came back after his injury he wasn't right and it took him a few games to get right. Now how do you get him right, without the games? Difficult for a manager and a 100% Yann should be the first name on the team sheet, but people questioning whether he should have been in the side earlier in the season where not from my recollection doubting his ability or writing him off.

  • Remember this post...we are so going to murder the Championship next season.
  • I have a feeling... ohhh ohhh.... Can't quite believe it though, but my intuition says Charlton up next year. And I think we could do it without a lot of new signings... There's a lot of potential in this team. Very few points from playoffs next year, one of the best teams at development...
  • There was definitely a period when we were relying too much on hoof ball and Yann was the obvious magnet for the hoofs. However Hughes coming into the midfield has seen us start to play football through the midfield and down the wings, which Yann has greatly benefited from. Fantastic player with a magnificent touch and a great footballing brain, in fact he's got everything except great pace.
  • Pretty sure when we signed him he had a worse scoring record than Pavel Abbott.... ;-)
  • Seems a great shame that he's never played at the highest level - not someone you'd like to play against.

Delighted for him that things are going so well.

Agree with all of that, so was staggered when, during the first half last Saturday, Yann absolutely murdered the defender for pace to get to the bye-line and cross the ball. He can shift more than he usually shows.

  • Did he mean it?

If you have been watching, when the others walk off the pitch before the game, Yann stays on to practice his volleys. That goal was his (and our) reward for his great attitude, and professionalism.
  • In the team of the week, congratulations Yann.

  • don't agree with Yann at left back.
  • I'm delighted to tell you all that I am now the proud owner of the boots Yann was wearing on Saturday when he scored this wondergoal :-)
