I too screamed exactly those words outside the front door while clapping my hands really fast when I heard that swing low had signed a new contract, one for luck... YAY!!!
I think his second season will be better. Why? Because some players have that little bit of class that I really saw signs of at youth level - and whilst I have been delighted with him this season, I know that there is much more to come. We do have a real gem on our hands and Sir Chris has played a blinder in terms of picking the moment. This season has been used to set him up for next season - watch him go is all I say!

Think Muttley has this nailed for once ;0). Since he came into the side he has shown real talent and promise but in grabbing his chance I suspect his performances have not shown the composure that comes with being established first choice. Once he has that mentality I think we might have so far only seen the tip of CH's talent iceberg.
Callum has started for England U19's in their first Euros Elite Stage qualifier vs. Georgia, today.
It's 1-1 at half time.
England's goalie was sent off after 8 minutes for giving away a free kick outside the box from which Georgia scored (Harriott was not the player sacrificed for the sub keeper). Max Clayton scored the equaliser.
They've two more games after today against Belgium and Scotland.
Addicks boss confident of Harriott development Sunday, 26 May 2013
By Richard Cawley CHRIS Powell is backing Callum Harriott to continue making big jumps in his development at Charlton and be an even bigger headache for Championship defences next season. The exciting young winger recently penned a contract extension with the Addicks until 2016 and was called up by England U19s. The Norbury-born teenager will not be such an unknown proposition for opposition defences in the next campaign. But Powell said: "His character will carry him through. He has a good career ahead of him and next season he'll develop even more. "I really do truly believe that our fans, players and staff have only just seen the beginning. Callum has a lot of talent and skill - we've got to harness that in the right way. I can only see him improving and getting better and better." The full interview with Powell is in the latest edition of the South London Press.
CH's development has been slower than expected but maybe that's a good thing - hard to tell how good he can become? Some wingers just fizzle out but if you can unearth a good one they can terrify the opposition. CH has the tricks and now needs to develop his decision making. Hopefully he'll keep level-headed.

this is the key , the potential is there but will the brainpower will take him to the next level
I feel the same way about Zaha to some extent - ran into a lot of dead ends yesterday and can be too slow in releasing the ball. I still think Lloyd Sam could have been a good player if his decision making was better.
The directness Harriot has was a major factor in us turning our home form around. Whether he loses the ball or beats a player- it pushes defenders back and makes it a little more uncomfortable for them.
I remember a few years back that people thought Solly wouldn't make it because of his physicality, i'd like to believe we're good enough at guiding youngsters along the right path.

With the present incumbents in the coaching roles at Charlton, I think that goes without saying...

Great news on Callum
Keep Solly and we can look at possible playoffs with a couple solid signings.
