Any one know if florent rouamba was there last night ? Would be interesting to know
No, he wasn't on the list to attend. Think everyone due to come along did so...other years a couple have been no shows at the last minute but as stated earlier, this is SUCH a close group of lads that they wanted to be there ( and no doubt to the Club most were travelling on to later...Rhoys said he was going home to rest his hammy)
Of the 3 events I've helped organise, this was def the best mainly due to the players, management and you lot, the fans. Met heaps of lovely people inc the Special Ones ( Lifers) & it was brilliant to see so many smiling faces. Michael Slater & Tony Jimenez said they thoroughly enjoyed the evening and certainly looked as though they did which was a real bonus. John Humphrey and Paul Went were great MCs , with JH's jokes & anecdotes especially memorable.
Ian & myself presented the gaffer with a leather document case from all the supporters and some flowers for Lady Powell . It was agreed NOT to give him anything that required planting/nurturing this time - anyone coming to Sparrows Lane for the U21 match tomorrow lunchtime can see why ...Just take a look over the hedge into the Pierre Bolangi memorial garden ; next to the bust of the lad is a tall grey stick , bit like a coat stand...that's last year's £50+ rhodedendron bush !
Would be great to have more Lifers in attendance this time next year if I'm asked to help out again . Spoke to Paul Ellison about the possibility of it being a promotion party and a marquee on the pitch was mentioned....not sure if that'd be good for paddy's pitch though.
Guess it's about time I got dressed now after a good lie in...where's that bl**dy sun ??????
Great night, well done Fanny. All the players are an absoulte credit. NB I thought Chris Solly "appeared" quite down. Perhaps it's shyness. Hughes was sitting behind me, a complete nut nut :-)

Solly probably disappointed that his mate is leaving.
Whilst chatting to Leon Cort on my table, here's some answers he gave to my grilling:
Favourite time at a club (excluding Charlton) Stoke
Worst time at a club: Burnley, hated every minute of it, including the premiership
Best player he's played alongside: Fuller in his prime at Stoke
Best player he's come up against: Tevez
Does Ceddy deserve all the stick he gets from the lads: 100% yes. If he nug megs a player in training, he'll bang on about it for weeks. Did say he's a great guy though
Who's got the best shot at the club: Green. Always shooting in training, rather than crossing/laying it off. I said this might be why he hasn't been picked so often. He smirked in agreement
Although he has played for both our rivals, he says he has no affection for either of them.
Absolutely loves being here and is very happy.
Looking at taking up coaching when he stops playing and is currently taking his badges. Says it takes about 6 years to complete the lot, as you can't take one straight after the other.
Wants to move to the states in the future. Goes out regulary to see his brother (Carl) who is still playing in florida, as the warm climate helps his dodgy knees
Also told me he supported Wimbledon as a kid (due to his brother being there) and he bagan his footballing life as a keeper, Wimbledon offered him schoolboy forms but he declined, as he didn't want to play in goal.

Thanks, CE .Glad you enjoyed it.
Think that's Chris Solly's normal "face" IYKWIM. He is pretty shy and doesn't appear to enjoy the limelight. Perhaps Hames and Hughsey could give him a few lessons !
Oh course it's Taylor and Dervite out of contract, my mistake.
I'd offer them both new deals. Taylor showed he can do a job when needed.
Taylor is on his way to pastures new I believe.
I wouldn't be surprised. When the meal finished, all the other players were walking around or at the bar, but from what I saw Taylor just sat at his table, not saying much. He looked less happy than Solly :-)

I mentioned the same thing to Leon Cort that Solly looked a bit down. He said that's just him, very shy, but a completely different animal when he's had a few drinks............
Firstly, thanks to everyone involved in the organisation of this years poty awards. What a great night, met a few of the players and they all seemed very happy at our club.
Rhoys Wiggins was on our table, what a great lad he is I reckon he will have a great future ahead of him, lets hope its with us as he seems very happy at the Valley.
As for Chris Powell what a man, can't praise him highly enough, not just for what he has achieved but for what he stands for. We see so many horrible people in the game but Chris is just one of the very, very good guys, love him to bits.

The only negative I saw all night was the 2 loudmouth blokes sitting on Andy Hughes table. Constantly talking very loudly during speeches (Powell politely asking them to shut the f**k up at one point) and drowing out John Humprys stories of when he was a player. I know the bulmers were flowing, but if they're reading this, shame on you fellas..............
Not sure if it has been mentioned, but thought it was brilliant of CP to get the Under-21s to pop in for a few minutes before sending them home to bed in preperation for todays game. #OneTeam
Player of the year standings based purely on the Actim Index Player Rankings.
The index is based upon Actim Stats - The Official Stats of The Football League - and is produced by PA Sport in conjunction with Football DataCo. They are derived from all the actions that take place during a match, including goals, shots on target, corners, fouls, offsides, passes, tackles, blocks and clearances.
According to these stats, Charlton have 5 of the top 100 players in the Championship this season.
15. Johnnie Jackson (4th ranked midfielder) 19. Chris Solly (5th ranked defender. Highest ranked right back) 43. Ben Hamer 56. Bradley Pritchard 97. Michael Morrison
No Yann surprised me greatly. It seems that his worth to a team can't be measured by stat geeks.

(Sorry, realise this question is slightly off-topic)
Signed my Handbook "To Jake......" ?
