Yes, all in all it was a good night, the Bickley is very swish, the tucker was good.
About 60 people, good company, met Dan Bream (the guy who does our big screen) very nice chap. Made me smile that Sir Chris sat next to Mr Varney for the duration.
Dickie Davies was a good host for the Q&A section with Sir Chris before he opened it up to the floor. The charity side of it seemed successful with the money raised during the evening tipping the pot full enough to buy a minibus, so happy days reference that side of the event.
As for the words of wisdom and insight from Sir Chris, I will try and recall it, he spoke for about an hour and a half to a hushed room.
Alex Dyer calls him the black Alan Curbishley due to some of the practices Chris has adopted in his management style from his former Manager. IE he wont name the subs for a game until just before kick off to prevent those from not playing going out on a Friday night. He says that man management is the most dominant part of his job and the most important Doesn't think we will make the play offs, said we needed all three at Cardiff earlier this week to keep that alive
Someone stuck their neck out about his substitution practices, he pretty much told him he does what he thinks best during a game.
Jonny Jackson is Captain amongst other reasons because Chris thinks he is a person the fans can identify with. He confirmed he didn't get his targets at the close season but said "I am not the type of person to complain about that, I will make the best of what I have" He couldn't explain the disparity between home and away form.....which makes one more person who cant. Some players will probably leave at the end of the season as they wont be part of the journey, no names mentioned of course He spoke with passion about players understanding what it means to play for Charlton.
He was great, very relaxed, I didn't hear anything much new that I had read on here and such like, but that didn't detract from a very enjoyable evening.
One of the scouts told me when he met with them and Philippe Chapelle recently they asked him what sort of players he needed, Chris' reply was simple "good players"
And to top it all off, my 74 year old dad took a photo of a girls arse at the bar.... yeah, thanks for that Dad.

I hope that's not me in 30 years
gotta love Powelly. He'd be at the helm for years if I had any say.
Picture?
Don't get the Black Curbs thing. Is SCP Black? Never seen that mentioned in the media but I do think SCP is son of Curbs.
