6-0

edited April 2013 in General Charlton
I know that was our record away win at Barnsley and I am proud to say I WAS THERE!

But obviously the last time (prior to Barnsley) we won by 6 goals was a home game. I'm trying to find out when that was?

  • Just been through my Charlton Home and Away book and it was on Tuesday 29th August 1972 when we beat Swansea 6-0 at The Valley in front of 5,249 people.

The goals were scored by Peter Reeves (22), Arthur Horsefield (44 & 52), Dave Shipperley (75 & 87), and Paul Davies (86).

Line up: John Dunn, Mick Jones, Phil Warman, Peter Reeves, Dave Shiperley, Vinny O'Kane, Bob Curtis, Mike Flanagan, Eamonn Rogers, Arthur Horsefield, Keith Peacock. Sub: Paul Davis who replaced the injured Eamonn Rogers after 9 minutes.

This was 9 years before I was even born.
  • Nope, Southampton 6-2 1976.
  • Hang on - re-read your post. By 6 goals. Then yes.

I was there and am pretty certasil that the Referees name and one of the linesman was Reeves to. Any chance that the H&A book records that

I think I did notice that the ref was called P Reeves.

    That's unusual for a Thursday.
