Nicky Bailey threatened by Middlesborough fans

Just seen this..
Just had a message from VB telling me that Nicky Bailey was threatened after the match by a few mindless morons who in an aggresive manner told him to shut his Mrs up on twitter and basically blaming her for Boros downfall.

Ok perhaps she has upset a few but this is mindless in my opinion and not needed.

Fan turning on players how much further are we going to fall....we are not Millwall supposed supporters.

Disturbing in the least!
No idea if there's any truth in it, but very interesting... If true I can see him wanting out of the club. (not that it matters to us with his wages!)

  • That's terrible, would have him back here but not sure if he'd come. Anyone know what his wife has said about them?

Sounds like it was from their "Red Faction" - an ultras style group. Yet the wife goes to U18 matches and seems to properly get behind the side and support the youngsters. It's actually been said that the tweets may have been from a fake twitter account too..

    Alfie Bailey's twitter account - https://twitter.com/QueenBailey1986
    Her mother...? - https://twitter.com/MrsBaiely44

It's a shame, as it appears she goes to away games and stands with all the fans too. Proper scummy fans - all I can see on her twitter feed is abuse she's getting, none of it she's initiated by slagging the club off?
  • Surely Baileys wife's mothers surname isn't Bailey too ?
  • Didn't she slag us of after he left, we are a 'small club' or something along those lines
  • Thought that was murphys wife
  • J Block - pretty sure that was D Murphy's wife

Yeah, thats what confused me. But her son-in-law moved her up north, and I thought I saw a tweet to the wife (Alfie) that made it seem as though she was her daughter..?
  • If he's off in the summer I can't see too many bigger clubs going after him. He will probably have to take a wage cut. I don't think coming back is totally out of the question.

    Rather he did not return.

  • I'd rather have him than Gower given the choice.
  • what footy fans getting touchy about what a footballers wife says ..... surely not

    touchy twats

who gives a f*** as long as the fella puts his all in on the pitch and even then it's only a game !

  • I just looked at the twitter account and she (or a he if is a fake account) seems to have an obsession with the c**t word.

Yeah, pretty sure bailey's wife had a dig too, maybe I'm wrong
  • Threatening her is completely unacceptable but perhaps she should tone it down a bit, she comes across as quite belligerent and opinionated which of course is fine in private but on a public forum when it concerns her husbands employers (and often appears directed at their customers) it's comes across as at least crass.

  • Her exchange with a bloke called 'Craig Broadbent' makes her come across as a bit of a mouthy tramp.

Wouldn't be happy if I was Bailey
  • Yeah, she's pretty much an oxygen thief just from reading some of that dross.

Plus Bailey, no thanks. One of our most overrated players from 'those days' simply because the dross he was playing with was worse.
  • Not sure I'd want him back here. Was a good player here and I respect him, but he's done he's time here. Lets think forward.
  • If he has cut the diving around and rolling on the floor antics then maybe if he still does that shit stay away
  • Didn't we have this discussion last week?
  • I liked Bailey but not sure what he'd bring to the table these days, look at where Boro are compared to us, they don't seem to be much better than us really.

  • I think we did very, very well out of the deal that saw us fleece them of £1.4m for a player that scored a lot of goals in a side that was, basically, rubbish.

It's not a coincidence that none of that squad (that played with Bailey) are still at the club. At this moment in time Mark Hudson and Robbie Elliot are the only two players playing for a team higher up the league than we are.

I wouldn't take Bailey back now on a free. I wasn't, really, sad to see the back of him. I thought he was a bit of a liability at times, and I fear that he was just not intelligent enough to make it at a club playing much higher than mid table in the Championship.
  • he was one of the better player in what was a very poor side. I would take him back, the guy scores goals. I think Boro have missed a trick tbh playing him so deep.
