I was there, along with my Uncle, Brother and family friend - Amazing

    - in fact, my little brother was on the pitch at half time taking shots in their Tykes challenge. Nice little memory for him!

Yep, I was there, a morning spent walking in the peaks, an afternoon spent celebrating goals, with a few beers in-between.
  • Aye.
Fantastic weekend obviously helped by the footie.
For the record, Barnsley isn't as grim as people think. But some locals could still count our goals on one hand.

    I was there

    In December 1986 that is.

But, I wasn't there the day we pulled Tommy Tykes whippets tail. I will never get the souvenier cloth cap and burning wheelie bin set.

    *sobs into cocoa*
  • Aye, there with the boy. He is still revelling in the fact that 'you've still never seen six but I have' due to an ill-timed trip to the khazi when Jacko scored!

    Gutted!
  • I have personally met 72781 people who were at the Huddersfield 7-6
  • Top Tip. Acquire a match programme that you can wheel out in ten years time. Be sure to fold it in half and put it in a back-pocket for 90 minutes to give it that authentic look and feel. I was there..........in 1980 for a 0-0.

  • Was sat in a Sheffield pub with @Kent_red afterwards literally just giggling. Bloody hell.

As I said walking back to the station, it felt like I'd been doing drugs. It still hasn't sunk in.
  • I was there with CAFC supporters from Altrincham, Bury and Knutsford, can't vouch for the way the beer was sold but the pie deal which included a coffee and bag of crisps was excellent value.
  • I was there..........in 1980 for a 0-0.

    Me too...

    Me too...
Me too. On the football special. Before we left Barnsley the Transport police asked us to draw the curtains across the windows to protect against bricks being thrown as it rumbled out of Barnsley...

  • yes we were there and still smiling
  • Obviously I missed yesterday, but I was there the last time we scored a goal at Oakwell; Keith Jones smashing it home from outside the penalty area if my memory is to be believed. I think that game ended 1-1.

Had to get this photo before leaving as well...

Sadly, going by Facebook it appears that by heading to the front I missed Seb get his shirt off.

Ah, I think me and my brother met you and your mate at half time - so yes, you definitely there!

I think I'm still drunk from yesterday, this hangovers going to be terrible when it kicks in.
  • Was that the legendary Seb with the shirt off at the back then?

Did we walk back to the station with you as well? We had a fair few more but I'm surprisingly alright today.

Bryan, it would have been in the very back row. I can't imagine too many others went shirtless, so probably. There is a photo on his Facebook page but I'll refrain from posting it.

  • Last week after chris powell questioned fans for leaving early one or two came on and said they lived a long way away.I presume all charlton fans yesterday lived a long way from barnsley.did any leave early?
  • Yeh, think the charlton mascot will have plenty to gloat about at school monday morning to his probably man u liverpool supporting mates who have probably never been to a game.supporting charlton has its moments.
  • I was there, and my mate John had £1 at 20-1 on Pritch scoring the first goal
  • I was there - waited a long time and travelled thousands of miles for that.

Pritchard first goal and a 6-0 win was 1,000 - 1 at their bookies.
