Pics of the £3,000 CL cheque handover

As some on here know, a few of us were lucky enough to hand over a cheque for £3k to Steve Avory of the Academy on the pitch before the match on Saturday. I guess the official club pics will appear on the website or perhaps in the programme at some point, but in the meantime, here are a few snaps.

    It was a super day. We met up by Big Sam, and had passes for the Millennium Lounge courtesy of the club. Enjoyed a couple of drinks there (forgot to eat!) and some good Charlton chat. Then met Matt Wright, who escorted us through the Lower West to the pitchside. Saw BDL in full flow, though couldn't make out what he was saying! We arrived while the players were just finishing the warm-up. Great view of the stadium from there - feels really big and imposing. Steve Avory arrived and introduced himself, then we stepped out onto the muddy, slippery pitch -about ten yards in by the centre line - and handed over the big cheque. Matt then escorted us in different directions to our own seats- was a bit of a shock to be back slumming it on the Upper North concourse! Made it to our seats just in time for Red, Red Robin and the match. Thanks to all CL auction participants - Steve was very grateful.

    Have to agree with weegie, it was good few hours, nice beer and a chat prior to the presentation, thanks for the nice reception me and Dave received from the Herbert's behind the away dugout. Weegie, thanks for posting the photo, but I can I revise my description I gave you from fat and bald to fat, bald and ugly, with this revision I am certain you would have recognised me immediately.

    Now looking forward to our day in the posh seats and boardroom at Barnsley on Saturday. Will do a write up on our day out when we return. Thanks Henry for giving us both these two opportunities to see behind the scenes.

    Not me who deserves all the thanks. I just organised the auctions.

    The Club donated the lounge tickets and Barnsley Directors box package and CL provided the platform and access to bidders. Bromley Addicks helped with organising and bank accounts.

    But the chance to go on the pitch was open to anyone who bid and it is there where the real thanks should go.
