Hi All.
I'm planning a work trip over to Syria in about 8 weeks for 3 weeks and will probably be visiting refugee camps as well as the main urban centers. I was considering taking an extra bag with donated old kids Charlton shirts and balls to give out along the way.
Are there any objections from the Charlton faithful? Anyone to help organise collection? I will be attending a briefing in London in the next couple of weeks so can pick up shirts then.
Thought about doing this before in Gaza but got involved in a thread where i got some big digs for my opinions so cancelled that.
I travel to a lot of hot spots and would like to consider doing this in other places also (Congo and Chad in June) with a view to making a short film or documentary on bringing football to conflict zones. Is there a consensus that this would be a good or bad image of Charlton shirts.
Cheers in advance.

I would look forward to seeing your film and reports.
Good on you @scidbox, best of luck.
In all seriousness - good on you scidbox
Ahmed Kahlil, Syria's highly rated free-scoring forward asked why he had joined English Premiership team Charlton Athletic:
' When I was 8 years old, this guy visited our village and gave out a number of Charlton shirts. I've never forgotten it and always wanted to play for them ever since, so this is a dream move for me'.
At least you'll learn the Syrian word for "Who?" :-)
Seriously, nice one.
Thanks

Is it only God's own Charlton shirts you are after or other ones as well?
Fair play to people like you mate. With all the depressing stuff in the news all the time it is good to have faith in humanity restored with things like this.
