  • But Rob Hulse has gone now ;-)
  • Johnnie Jackson ?
  • The same magazine that gave us an outrageous predicted position for last year, poor journalism
  • In fairness, they actually highlighted the massive error they made with the prediction last year in a later edition.

They then auctioned a signed copy of it for charity.

Still think it is a great magazine for those who are interested in the game outside of what Sky Sports force feeds us.
  • Don't make me pay loads of money to find out who the named player is!!
  • I think 1 player is generous
  • My guess is Ricardo Fuller, maybe Jackson.

    It was Jackson at 30.

Leon Clarke was about 18. Long may people not notice that Yann is three times the player he is, or that Solly is quality, might let us keep them longer!

Indeed. Leon Clarke is a very potent goalscorer in league 1 as he's shown with chesterfield, Scunthorpe and Coventry. Fair play to him and I can see why he was included.
  • It's a bit daft doing a list of 50 players from all 3 leagues, together, as the vast majority of players in the Championship in are better than the players in L1 and L2. How do you compare a 12 goal striker in the Championship with a 25 goal striker in L2, competing against far inferior defences?

  • Well it looks as though the magazine didn't pick the 50 themselves, it was chosen for by fans.

Rather than ranked as "this player is a better player than that one", it sounds like they're ranked on a mixture of ability and 'effectiveness/value' for the level they are at. Hence why Leon Clarke will be ranked higher than many Championship players, as he is considered a massive force in League One whereas the likes of Johnnie Jackson are considered by the majority as only a reasonable force in the Championship.
  • It was Jackson. Tom Ince and Wilfred Zaha were joint winners.
  • Didn't realise that Jackson has 35 goals in 100 apps. That's v decent.

He scored again last Saturday .....now 36

  • Izale McLoud gets a mention - daft idea really. As said before, big difference between L1 players and Championship so a bit pointless really.
