Following on from the addicks who live in London thread, are there any Addicks who have absolutely no connection with the area or through family connections who follow us? I know there was the South African fella trying to get Millwall tickets, but is there anyone else on here who supports us but has no connection in any way? And why did you start supporting us?

Friends ruined my life by taking me to matches.
After a year or so of courting two clubs at the same time, I realised that my new love meant more to me than the old one, so dumped the Hatters ( although I still have a lot of affection for them ). I persuaded my Charlton based company to buy an exec box at Selhurst and so got to know Chris Parkes and Steve Sutherland well, and then got heavily involved with The Valley Party. The Addicks have remained a major part of my life ever since, and despite the miles, the fans and Charlton Life still make me feel part of a very very special club.
Back then they were really trying to get kids and the community involved even more than now and they were great.
I remember going to the park and the only Charlton shirt there was worn by my son, with plenty of WHam, Newcastle, Blackburn, Utd, Millwall and Liverpool shirts on display. Despite being teased he stuck with them and many of his mates moved over to Charlton as well.
