  • Agree with you there, brilliant captain performances all season. Gets a lot of stick but steps up to the plate when needed.
  • Florent Rouamba
  • Hollands
  • Solly
  • Jackson. At season's start I thought that he was finished. In fact he has come through to be the most important player as captain, motivator and organiser on the field. Powell 'swears' by him and that is good enough for me right now
  • Solly
  • Johnnie Jackson just edges it for me.
  • Frimpong for me, although this is seriously under threat due to the signing of Obika......................
  • The clue is usually in the title. Now if you really mean player of the year, we'll have to wait until December 31st.

If you mean Player of the Season. Then you need to take into account 39 league games & not just 4 or 5.

Jackson has had about 4 really good games. About 20 average games & about 15 poor games.

Solly has had about 30 really good games. About 8 average games & 1 below average game.

    Go figure ?

  • Solly. Hardly put a foot wrong all season. Head and shoulders better than any other player we have. Enjoy him while you can.
  • Solly for me. Consistently good most games.
  • Solly or Jackson for me, no one else really in the frame.
  • Yup, has to be Solly again.
Who was the last player to win it in consecutive seasons?
  • Jackson
    Solly

Richard Rufus 00/01. Excellent defender at his best, quick strong with great positional sense.

    Mark Kinsella 98 / 99.

Great to see Solly get 2 and a third consecutive.

John Humphrey won 3 consecutive in 1988, 1989 and 1990.

    Nicky Johns won 3 in 81 /83 + 84. Keith Peacock won 3 in 72 / 78 + 79.

Last striker in 2006 Darren Bent.

Since 1971, just 4 players of the year have been won by strikers, Arthur Horsfield - 73, Derek Hales - 76 and Mike Flannagan - 77.

  • Solly without doubt
  • In a difficult season Solly has been our best and most consistent player by a country mile
  • Solly is the only player that would walk into any Championship team. Got to be him.

Were Wiggins + Harriott playing all year it would be a much more difficult decision.
  • Solly- our best Full-back since CP. Didn't he win it in consecutive seasons as well?

  • Solly by a mile.
  • Jackson.

  • It's got to be Solly for me. The only player who's been consistently good every match he's played in. Jackson has showed some superb moments of leadership to turn games around and is leading goalscorer from midfield, but he has looked laboured on occasions. Kermorgant has always given the fight and commitment we need, but discipline isn't a strong point. Solly has been faultless for game after game after game.
  • JJ just pips Solly for me. Leading goal scorer and captain fantastic. Solly has been quality but without JJ and his goals we would be a lot worse off than we are.
  • I vote for CP's little notebook that outlines his tactical responses to other teams' substitutions.

Not Will, Philip or Steve though.

  • Solly for me as well. Jackson's had his moments but overall Solly is your best and most consistent player in my view
  • Jackson
  • Solly. Played out of position for most of the season and still miles better than everyone else. I'd struggle to pick a number 2

I've figured that that's your opinion and it's not as clear cut as you make out, for a lot of us.
