So the powers that be have decided to follow other sports and make a rule change to jazz up Doubles matches.
Supposedly it was done to speed up games in an attempt to attract the big name singles players.
So now there is no advantage, first point at deuce wins the game.
It's a stupid rule which favours the lesser players who just hit and hope.
I'm a big doubles fan. When played well it's easily the equal of singles. But they are trying to ruin it.
The super tie-break was bad enough, but this surely is one step to far.
It seems all sports are trying to speed the games up and compact the action into shorter periods. Rant over.
Speaking of rule changes, noticed a Pakistani batsman has become the first dismissed due to obstruction.
