I always really liked Murphy and stuck up for him on many occasions, great footballer, but if that's true, very disappointed, no idea why you need to be big-headed about being lucky enough to be a pro footballer.

Wouldn't want Murphy back personally. Was fantastic when we were playing well, but when we lost form and began to struggle he vanished. He was the highest payed player, the club captain, and the most experience, yet the time we really needed him to stand up and be counted, to be a leader, he bottled it. Worse still, I had to listen to the idiots in the crowd blaming curbs for upsetting poor Danny.

I heard that rumour too, although long time after he left us. A lot of negative stories seem to crop up when he's talked about, shame he was a good player.
