Yann Kermorgant - Would You Start Him Versus Millwall?

  • Yes. Fuller does not look fit.

    Or interested
  • Shock - Big Yann brings consensus to CharltonLife. Is there no end to the man's talents?
  • Would definitely play Yann, also like to find a place for Dale Stephens>
  • after watching Fuller on a poor pitch yesterday this one is a no brainer - come on Yann
  • Yes !
  • Amazed anyone feels the need to ask the question. Definition of a No brainer.

Only thing Powell needs to do is have a quiet word and remind him we need him for the full 90 mins
  • Without doubt.
  • in a word YES .. get in lots of crosses from Prince Harry and Solly and worry the life out of a dodgy Millwall back four
  • Yann and Haynes for me. Yann should win plenty of flicks and hopefully Danny can exploit the large but ponderous Shittu. I want to see Gower come in if the loan is complete. He will want to impress and knows what us playing Millwall means. Make sure you tell him nla. Gower would also bring a lot of composure and experience to the match.

Yes, up front with Haynes. I'd be surprised if Chris doesn't' t put him straight in.

More to the point, will Chris start Stephens?

I think he will start with Dervite as he did at Palace - biggest team available to bully the oppo.
  • Nothing in the team will change, Powell shouldn't change a winning team no matter who is on the bench or coming back from injury/suspension.

Kermorgant will be so pumped for the game he'll probably get sent off again anyway!

I love the fella but he got sent off for a silly petulant kick out, and what kind of a message are you sending to the rest of the team if he walks straight back in?

    *tin hat on*
  • The only reason not to play him (fitness issues aside) would be because Fuller had done a great job in his absence, as he hasn't this is a no-brainer, he plays.
  • Fair point sam, but he got absolutely battered in league one every week without ever lashing out (in fact even getting some dodgy decisions our way), so his moment of madness against Forest should hopefully be a one off.

Personally, I'd make him drink three pints of raw eggs a day until the morning off the 16th and then let him loose.

As the Yoof say .... THIS.

  • Yes. No doubt.
  • Yes, a fired up Yann desperate to play, could be perfect timing him missing the last few games.

Most of the rest of the squad will be more worried about win bonuses, their place in the team, the price of sugar, playing golf the next day or what the weather is up to than whether he should sit the match out.
  • I see someone mentioned Stephens coming back?

He travelled with the squad yesterday, but can't see him coming back in the 11.

If this Gower comes in, he faces a battle on his hands first off. But in the long run, Gower will benefit Stephens. Learn the trade off a pro who statistically was one of the best passers in the PL in Swansea's first crack in the PL.

  • I disagree with the whole don't change a winning team, you should always strive to better yourself, I never went on Saturday but in both the Burnley home and Peterborough away Fuller just hasn't been good enough, I'm not sure if it's lack of comitment but it doesn't hasn't seemed to come off for him. Saying that with his quick feet and ability to drive at players I'd like to see him up against Shittu at one point who is no mug but very slow on the turn. Will be intresting to see if Harriot will play or will Powell think it won't be the sort of game for him. I hope he plays as Millwall mates of mine constantly refer to the Right back area being a weak link with them when Adam Smith doesn't play.
  • With Yann back in the fold, can we please send Obika back to spurs?
  • With Yann back in the fold, can we please send Obika back to spurs?

Why, we will have already paid for the loan, so why lessen our options?
  • Yes, we need someone who can put the boot in when it starts getting hairy
  • With the way Fuller is playing at the moment it has to be a big YES. Need some sort of physical presence up front and le Yann fits the bill.
  • With Fuller's form there's no reason not to be starting Yann. As we all know, he'll be bang up for it too.
  • Yes. Fuller does not look fit.

he has the class fuller but i have never felt he looked fit from day one.
  • With the pitch being so bad, we'll have to play it long and that means Kermorgant should play. And he's one of our few regular goalscorers this season. Leave Fuller on the bench.
  • Yes, he's bound to be up for it as well.
