  • Button - 6 - Made some good catches, pushed a couple of shots back out into dangerous areas but got away with it. Decent overall though.
Solly - 6.5 - Untroubled defensively but struggled to get forward. Minus half a mark for a couple of terrible throw ins that went staright to Hudds players but half mark reinstated for his assist.
Morrison - 6.5 - Got his head on a lot of long balls and played his part in limiting the number of shots Button had to deal with.
Taylor - 7.5 - MOM - Good postionally and read the game very well. Won pretty much every header he contested.
Wiggins - 7 - He and Harriot provided most of our limited attacking threat and he defended very well I thought.
Wilson - 4.5 - Huffed & puffed but was pretty anonymous except for one great cross in the first half.
Pritchard - 4.5 - Huffed and puffed and did his best to cover the yards on what looked a wide and tiring pitch. Too often out muscled though and when he did manage to get on the ball and get his head up he too often squandered possession.
Jackson - 4.5 - Physically stronger than Pritch but doesn't have the same amount of running in his legs. Put the work in but didn't really influence procedings.
Harriott - 7 - Took his goal well and set up one of our two other clear chances with a purposeful run and well weighted through ball. The sticky pitch did not make it easy for him to run with ball but he looked the most likely to make something happen in attack.
Fuller - 4 - Not entirely his fault thanks to the hopeless quality of ball he received from defence and midfield, but basically nothing came off for him.
Haynes - 5 - Worked hard and came closest to adding to our total, but really should have done better with at least one of his two chances. Tired badly in the second half.
Dervite - 6 - He didn't do anything spectacular, but his introduction helped plug the gaps in our midfiled that Hudds were starting to exploit. I think we'd have drawn at best if we'd tried to stay with a 4 man midfield so you could argue he made a match winning contribution.

Obika n/a - Failed to get a shot away in his one attacking chance and gave a away a silly freekick late on but freshened up a tiring front line.
Evina n/a - Tidy cameo in left midfield from Ceddy that helped see out the game.

you don't normally see marks like that after a win! 6 for a MOM! seems very harsh

The marks reflect the performance not the result

Well, at least Chris Powell said he was very pleased with Taylor's performance.
Sounds like CP has given him a higher mark than you have!

    ;o)
  • I think it is rather unfair for some of you, who were not there, to comment on the marks of those of us that were there.

The overall performance of our team was poor, Taylor was better than most and most have marked him relatively high and so CP agrees with the majority of the markers.

I appreciate that but with a clean sheet no one got higher than a 6? I saw better marks for the defenders when we conceded 4! Taylor seems to deserve more than a 6.
  • that's it for marks, stats to follow
