(Interchangeable 4-4-2 and 4-5-1 with Haynes being able to play on the wings. Could also switch t 4-3-3 with Green and Haynes playing as proper wingers up top)
At the moment it is impossible to predict what is in Powell's mind and what starting XI he might pick. Personally I'd start the XI from Saturday simply because it might be worth trying a little continuity. We've tried every other combination over the last seven games and lost five of them.
Lose to Peterboro and they will be only four pts behind us with a game in hand.
There was a fatalism around the Valley yesterday that was deeply disturbing. I didn't speak to a single supporter who expected us to win. The worry is that fatalism is starting to communicate itself to the players.
Of all the possibilities not Saturday's team. That was an experiment which didnt work. Back to the tried and tested for what is a pretty importnant game

I felt fatalistic after seeing the way the team was set up.
It depends if Solly is going to be fit. If Wilson is at right back, Green would be worth a try at right midfield with Wagstaff on the left. Bring Stephens back in fit. Hopefully Solly is fit. Wilson at right midfield with Green on later. Wagstaff on the left. Pack the midfield. A spirited performance needed.
Button Wilson Morrison Cort Wiggins Green Pritchard Stephens Jackson Haynes Fuller
Peterboro are one of the weakest sides in this division, so my thinking is to play a formation and team similar to the one that done so well in League One last season. It's also probably the most creative midfield we could pick.
Hamer Solly (if he has recovered from his dead leg) Morro Cort Wiggins Then 3 in midfield JJ, Pritch and Stephens (Wilson if Stephens is still injured) Harriott and Haynes playing wide. But when the ball is on the left Haynes should get in the box to help, Fuller who will be up top.
Kerkar?? Please keep him as far from the pitch (and from me too!) as possible. He's shockingly poor; can't beat a man, terrible passing, movement and positional sense. Might as well play with 10 men than start with him.
................and I feel similarly about Evina too, though you can add 'can't tackle' to the list of negatives. He makes Seaborne look competent!

If we are going to tinker with the team then why not get Hughes back in? He is a midfielder with plenty of experience so lets use him.

Being serious though, on Saturday's showing I don't think Button is any better or worse than Hamer.

They're weak defensively... Solid back 5 and let's kill them with pace up top. Waggy and haynes can drop into midfield if it all goes tits up.

Green, Stephens, Hughes, Jackson, wagstaff

A team that can either be 451 or adapt to 442 with waggy deeper. By definition a team that has to keep the ball on the ground and promote width.
