Has to be Haynes and Fuller up front from the start but... Jackson on the left doesn't work at this level... Solly and Wiggins as wing backs interesting but this has not been played at all...
I notice that no one has mentioned the strengths and weaknesses of the other team so maybe that will make up the managements mind about who is on the bench and the first half formation... I trust that we can adapt to whatever happens and the conditions - going to be freaking cold again
What this all shows is that we dont have any options other than to shuffle players around and not only is there not much quality on the bench there's precious little starting.
It would be nice to win at home, but just as important not to lose so I would want a midfield who can all defend, wingers who can get forward, and strikers who can score...... and yet still support Charlton, so:-
Button (cost £200k and maybe deserves a chance now)
After Saturday's no-show against Forest, CP is faced with some interesting decisions. For what it's worth, I think he must go 4-4-2 and look to be positive from the outset. This is my team, with one or two of them seriously playing for their places!
Hamer
Solly Morrison Cort Wiggins
Wilson Pritchard Stephens Jackson
Fuller Haynes
I'm sure others will have a different view...
This, I named this exact team to my dad on the way home. I think we look a lot better with Wilson in the team
Here's my tuppence worth although I accept it is, to some extent, in ignorance
Button (keepers having a bad time at the same time as the team need a break) Solly Cort or Taylor (not aware of Taylor doing anything wrong) Morrison Wiggins Wilson (looked determined when I saw him) Stephens (think he offers more than others although it seems he had a stinker on Saturday) Jackson (he doesn't do a lot wrong) Wagstaff (hasn't done a lot wrong from what I can see) Haynes (can win games) Fuller (can win games)
Evina seems a bit unlucky to be out of the side, but Wiggins is a good full back. I am not sure Evina has a proven record in midfield.
I don't want Fuller anywhere near the team after his total lack of effort against Forest on Saturday. It reminded of too much of Hasselbaink and a past it footballer picking up his final pay packet. With that 'performance' in mind and Yann's ban, letting BWP go is looking like a terrible decision as it leaves us with a real lack of options now.
I am a fan of Hamer but his confidence appears rock bottom atm, I think he needs a rest and hopefully will come back the same player he was up until 6 games or so ago
Just amazed that Pritchard keeps his place in about 90% of the teams above.
I am not knocking him per se (great energy/effort etc) but on Saturday he failed to make one tackle or complete one pass in 90 minutes. His single shot at the end of the first half was closer to the corner flag than the Forest goal.
At the very least give him a rest and give someone else have a chance.
The option of Hughes at least keeps him out of the commentary box which would be a welcome blessing for those listening on (non) Player but I would prefer a midfield of Wilson, Stephens (assuming he was ill week) Jacko and Evina. That has bite with some skill and pace.
