Hamer 3 - time for a rest Solly 6 - not his best Morrison 6 - actually did well to keep the score so low Cort 6 - ditto Wiggins 6 - game didn't allow him to bomb forward enough which is arguably his main asset Dervite 4 - no composure with the ball, every pass was an aimless lob. Pritchard 3 - looked out of his depth, probably just an off day. Stephens 4 - was poor but too often obvious runs weren't being made which led to him being closed down. still mostly poor. Jackson 4 - lot's of huff and puff but just couldn't get near the forest midfield. Wagstaff 5 - did ok, excellent effort as usual Kermorgant 4 - was great with fuller v brum, should have played together Fuller 5 - ditto Haynes 6 - looked our most likely/only chance of causing Forest any damage
I don't normally pass comments on the marking of others as I strongly believe everyone is entitled to an opinion.
However: Wagstaff 1? Please elaborate as to how you justify this!
Much of Waggy's good work is done off the ball, his non-stop running harrying and hurrying the opposition into mistakes. This has the dual effect of breaking up their play whilst creating the possibility of mistakes which we can capitalise on. Darlow was hurried twice on Saturday both times by Waggy careering into the area.
I'm not arguing that he had a classic on Saturday (who did?) but 1?
Hamer 4 - obviously at fault for the 2nd goal and also made a couple of other cock ups but did also make a couple of decent stops Solly 7 - needed more cover from Pritch in the first half. Looked much better when Waggy switched over Morrison 6 Cort 6 Wiggins 6 Dervite 4 Pritchard 5 - so much more effective in the middle than out wide but still not his best game Stephens 1 - couldn't pass water Jackson 5 - worked hard but ran out of steam Wagstaff 6 Kermorgant 4 - magnificent effort as always but getting yourself sent off makes a hard job even harder Fuller 6 Haynes 7
Hamer -5 lots of dodgy handling. Needs to sort that out Solly -5 - Nothing particularly good or bad from the wee man though looked at fault for the first goal Morrison -6 Cort -6 Wiggins -6.5 good to see him back. a couple of times he beat his man and neither goal came from his wing Dervite -5.5 - He's a breaker upper not a playmaker. The absence of a playmaker left him trying to do things he can't do and highlighted how weak we can be in the middle Pritchard -5 - outclassed, outmuscled and out thought. Would think he learned a few things at the weekend though. Lots of effort but not good enough on Saturday Stephens -2 my lowest ever mark. He truly had a Seaborne. Too predictable with the pass, too negative and far too slow. Really lost patience with him now. Jackson -4 - Once again the game passed him by. Really wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't call it a day at the end of the season as his legs have gone. I love the bloke and hope he coaches with us but his playing days are surely numbered. Wagstaff -3- Treated the ball like a hot potato. When we needed the ball held up he ran straight into a defender and lost possession or looked to pass it. Invariably gave it away. As I have said several times he is an athlete rather than a footballer. Kermorgant -3 Love him usually but he deserved a red card and was a dickhead for doing what he did. Fuller -4.5 - Didn't look especially interested. Can't blame him - if I looked back at that midfield and knew my only service was going to be 50-70 punts from Cort or Hamer then I'd have the raging arse Haynes -6 - Looked like he wanted to be there
Worst midfield I have seen in years on Saturday - all had stinkers. Jacko is so far off the pace it's like having 10 men, then once Kermy went off we were down to 9. The way Stephens and Pritch played...........you see where I am going with this. Dire
It took us 3 or 4 touches to control the ball
Forest were far superior when it was 11v11 - the sending off just delayed the inevitable. They have spent a few million on their squad and it showed.
Hamer 5 must be dropped.confidence must be shattered. Solly 6 Morrison 6 Cort 6 Wiggins mom 7 Thought the back 4 played well.wasn't their fault the midfield went AWOL. Wagstaff 5 Stephens 4 awful.needs a rest. Pritchard 5 big fan but awful today Dervitte 5 awful Jackson.6 give him credit he did try but well of the pace. Kermogant 4 very silly boy. Overall the worse midfield perfomance I've ever seen in my years of watching Charlton.no pace no skill and to lightweight.
