Was disapointed not to see Waggy start and can't find a single reason why Wilson warrants a place instead of him but then again I don't see what happens at training. I thought Wilson was very poor today.

  • I am giving all of today's 11 a "5". Nobody stood out as MOTM and nobody was awful.
Solly: I have seen many better performances from him this season. Perhaps he just gives us unrealistically high expectations.
    Wilson: was under par today
Cort: you know what you are going to get but would like him to control the ball when there is sufficient time. The only pass he ever does is sideways along the back four
Evina: his inexperience was highlighted a few times
JJ: we lacked width on the left whilst at times central midfield was overcrowded.
Stephens: some very good stuff undone by some significant mistakes. If only...

We were outdone by a sassier side on the day but even so could have nicked a point.

  • Hamer 3 - I genuinely think it would have been at least a point but for our 'keeper
    Solly 6
    Morrison 6
    Cort 6
    Evina 5.5
    Wilson 5.5
    Stephens 6
    pritchard 7
    Jackson 6
    Kermorgant 5.5
    Fuller 7
  • Hamer 5 ---- maybe could have done better with the goal (a bit of flapping) but he did make some good saves later on
Solly 10 ---- Surprised at the low scores. I thought Solly was the reason we played well 2nd half. All the attacks came through him
Morrison 7 --- Had an excellent first half I thought. Did miss a good chance from a corner though
    Cort 6 ---A bit hoofy
Evina 3 --- Poor quite frankly. His first touch isn't great and kept losing the ball and getting beaten. He only started to improve after Jackson barked at him
Wilson 5 ---- Had some good moments down the wing with Solly but was a bit ineffective I thought
Stephens 7 --- Actually got stuck in which was nice. I also get the feeling Stephens is the only midfielder who can really pass properly.
pritchard 8 ---- Had an excellent 2nd half and really got stuck in. Lost count of the number of times he won the ball back in midfield
Jackson 6 ---- Did alright. Little bit invisible
Kermorgant 6 ---- Did ok. Won headers
Fuller 7 ---- Had a good effort from a corner but ultimately didn't produce any spark

I actually thought we played pretty well today and deserved a draw
  • cafcnick and all players markers .does one mistake really warrant such a low mark for Hamer?
  • cafcnick again.I suspect some of these marks reak of "I am p*** ed off after a long jouney home.if you give 3 for evina yesterday what did you give seabourne against ipswich at home?-6?
  • Hamer 5

    Evina 6

That Seaborne performance lives long in the memory but the only reason I've picked on Evina is because he was clearly the worst player out there. I'm surprised everyone else has given him the marks they have. I wasn't going for the angry/long day marking and I think my conclusive sentence I posted below my marks demonstrates that.

  • cafcnick .Being a sad b*stard I just checked and you just escaped from eternal damnation as you did only give seabourne 2 for his "performance" against ipswich.
My eldest son [who is a lifelong charlton fan] still breaks into hysterical laughter when recounting the incident[s] of seabourne letting the ball go out for a throw and it accidentally hitting him just before it went out.And he did that twice in the same game I hear you cry .I know. That is why I feel sure ceddy must have deserved more than 3.But you were there and I was not so you know better than me.

Don't think so. Anyone that marks players 10 & 3 are not to be taken seriously in any way shape or form, unless of course someone performs "out of this world" or plays like Llera at Colchester :-)
  • Hamer - 5. Two saves I'd expect a Championship Keeper to make and one major cock up with the goal. Rather than waving at the ball like a camp airline steward he needs to either catch it or punch it.

Solly - 7 (MOM). Solid as ever. Was playing left back and right back for the last five minutes and spent a lot of time covering for Wilson.

Morrison - 7. Commanding, worked hard.

Cort - 6. Fairly solid but he ain't a centre forward so why does SCP insist on him playing up top when we're in a losing position for the last five.

Evina - 4. Awful game. Thanks goodness Rhoys is back. Shame as he has been decent in the past few matches.

Wilson - 3. Awful game. Did absolutely nothing of any merit other than give the ball away.

Stephens - 7. Despite a couple of wayward passess, he really has grown on me. He plays that 'in the hole role' so well and is the key playmaker in the team. Great goal line clearance as well.

Pritchard - 6. Not one of his best games for us but he did improve significantly in the second half. Should have used his left foot with his close up chance as he would have scored.

Jackson - 6. Jacko did a lot of huffing and puffing and was a nuisance in midfield, but for me he didn't get forward enough yesterday.

Kermorgant - 7. Won everything in the air and made some lovely lay offs. Worked his socks off as usual and plays anywhere SCP tells him to.

Fuller - 6. Hull were really worried about him and you could tell. Just a shame he didn't put himself about enough to act on their concerns. Thoroughly deserved his booking for his obvious play acting.

Haynes - I know we can't mark him, but got in excellent positions twice and has obviously been taking finishing lessons from BWP. He really should have scored.

Hamer 6 Looked shaky at times including for the goal but two good saves at the end
Solly 7 Played well looked good going forward.
Morrison 6 Dealt with what he needed to
Cort 7 looked commanding in the air extra point for a headed clearance which avoided a goal
Evina 5 Looked shaky but to be fair there was not much cover in front of him
    Wilson 5 Didnt offer much
Stephens 7 Kept at it extra point for a clearance off the line
Pritchard 6 Not one of his better games
Jackson 7 Thought he kept going and took some dangerous dead ball kicks.
    Kermorgant 6 Worked hard
Fuller 6 Always looks the part
  • Hamer 7 - was at fault for goal, but made some cracking saves.
    Solly 6
    Morrison 6.5
    Cort 7 MOM
Evina 4 exposed us on a few occasions.
    Wilson 5.5
    Stephens 6
pritchard 5.5 should have scored with that header.
    Jackson 6
    Kermorgant 4.5
    Fuller 5.5

  • Hamer - 5 oh dear
    Solly - 7
    Morrison - 7
    Cort - 7
Evina - 6 but no cover from midfield
    Wilson - 4 mystifying selection
Stephens - 5 not as powder puff as usual but still not good
Pritchard - 6 made the best of what he has 10 BP's would make a decent team
    Jackson - 6
    Kermorgant - 7
    Fuller - 6

Haynes - 6 if he would only get himself properly fit

10 = World beating performance, that can't be bettered. Maybe you score 4 goals ? It's Charlton, it won't happen.
9 = Wonderful performance, unlikely to be seen again, scores a hat trick. (Lisbie v Liverpool).
8 = Excellent game, probably scored a goal (unless a defender).
    7 = Good.
    6 = Average.
    5 = Below average.
    4 = Pretty poor game
3 = Absolutely dire (like Llera at Colchester)
2 = Worse than Llera at Colchester & probably scored a couple of OG's.
1 = Barely touched the ball the whole game.

Well you did ask :-) My opinion of course.
  • On a scale of 1-10 I'd say 5 is average, not 6. And what's wrong with 0 for utter utter cack?

We are Charlton so won't be any 10s or Zeros but we often see 6&7 awarded for pretty average performances. And if anyone gets a 3 there's always a cry of harsh. Its just a matter of opinion. For example I love the fact that Popicon can say Hamer made some cracking saves when I didnt notice any. Just my opinion.
