Dickson to sign?

Following his goalscoring exploits last week.I have been told today he was not allowed to play on Saturday for Dulwich Hamlet.Does this mean a signing is imminent.

  • He is not in tonights reserves squad. Though Harry Arter is back from injury which is great news this kid could make it.
  • surely he can't play for our seniors though?

Not unless he's released from his contract by Dulwich Hamlet, but that has to be under some exceptional circumstances. I think signing and then playing him unless we have EPL permission wouldn't be allowed.
  • according to their site he was 'rested'. Could we sign him and then loan him out to a League 1/Championship side for experience ?
  • Will probably do what we have with the Danish lad, sign him and keep him for next year in case someone else comes in.I've been told by someone at the club Dulwich that is,he was not allowed to play.
  • yeah but the Danish lad can sign a pre-contract agreement because he's Danish and will continue to play for his Club and then join us on 1st July. Dickson though would not be able to play for us at any level and may not be able to sign at all until July. Or am I wrong ?
  • I'm not sure, I don't think we can sign anyone outside the window unless they are unattached or unless we have special dispensation, which was the case when HH signed for us (Ipswich were in financual trouble and selling HH allowed them to survive).
  • But he wasn't allowed to play until the new season, if my memory serves me right.
  • Which may happen here, maybe the club don't want to risk him being pinched from under our noses.
  • Yep...Stanmore you are right, I think he had an injury too, and it allowed Charlton to oversee his rehab.

or maybe he has already been pinched.

or maybe we said no thanks and he was too cut up to play on Saturday.

or maybe i have got it completely wrong !
  • perhaps we could appeal to the Prem to let him play now, on the basis we are relying on Super Kev to keep us up....

    ;)
  • easy, get them to terminate his contract. he is then a free agent. then he can play.
  • sorry barts, will keep theinformation to myself next time.
  • why would they do that?
  • According to the Kent Messenger he's signed for £50,000 on a two and a half year contract
