Kish

edited March 2007 in General Charlton
Another game, another typical Kish performance ...

"Wise's team gave everything. None more so than Radostin Kishishev, borrowed from Charlton Athletic, ahead of the Wednesday game, to replace the disaffected captain, Kevin Nicholls. The Bulgarian's drive in midfield was inspirational. It was from his pass that Jemal Johnson set up Richard Cresswell for the only goal"

And he gave away a penalty near the end, but Leeds hung on.

  • Fair play to Kish, i like to see him do well as he always gave everything for the cause. But the lower half of the championship is about his level.
  • I have to disagree, I think lower half of the Prem is his level - and he's been a great servant for us. IF he is to leave in the summer - perhaps as the new captain of staying up Leeds - I would like to see him given a rousing send off at the Spurs game if at all possible - otherwise as early as poss next season.
  • We're lower half of the prem and he's not good enough for us. Yes he battles but you need a bit more about you as a premiership footballer. As Song is proving.
  • Song's level is top of the Prem _ I don't think Song and Kish would be less successful than Song and Holland.
  • I'm not going to get involved in a 'slagging Kish off' thread as i've already said i'd be happy to see him do well. Yes he can get stuck in and run about but that's about all he can do, he can't pass, can't shoot, has poor positional sense, dives in too soon. And the fact he had a good game for the championships worst team at home to mighty Luton doesn't do anything to change my mind.
Disagree with you about Holland though. Last season and early this season i would've agreed but I think Hollands game has improved dramatically since Pardew took over.
  • We don't disagree about Holland!
  • Good to see an honest, wholehearted player receiving the praise that his efforts deserve.

It is a shame though that some of the fans from his own club never appreciated his fully committed endeavours over 200 games and nearly 7 years.
  • Spot on Len, I will forgive any player as long as they ALWAYS give 100%, you can't ask for more than that.
My favourite all-time player is Garry Nelson simply because he gave it everything every time he pulled on that red shirt and when he came off the pitch he had nothing at all left in the tank.
Sure he was not the most skilful or even successful player of his time but I loved him for his effort in the same way that I will always have a lot of respect for Kishishev who, although he can be infuriating in some ways, will never let you down in terms of putting it in and is always snapping away at people and closing down.
He has been a top servant for our club and deserved a Valley send-off of some kind.
