May Day for Nurses

edited March 2007 in General Charlton
Seems like a good idea............. and we're not looking much good on this league table either!

Help us to get every premiership footballer to give up a days wagesfor our nurses by the last day of the season

The money raised will go into a hardship fund for nurses

The awareness raised will hopefully make the Government give nurses their due.

  • I can think of dozens of more worthy causes than giving money to nurses. They already get paid a wage. If they don't think it's enough they're free to get a job elsewhere or doing something else.

What next, a fund for other poor underpaid civil servants?

Many of them do - in private health care.

Which is just what many are doing so leaving us short of qualified and experiences nurses

Which doesn't train any nurses so has to rely on NHS trained staff who are in short supply cos the wages are so poor. Also private healthcare do not pay significantly more than the NHS and offer limited career development.

Remember Off-it, next time you or one of yours has to go into hospital that the person treating you is underpaid, overworked and possibly undertrained.

Doesn't say much for 10 years of New Labour does it?
