In the last four seasons prior to this current one we have had games called off because of freezing weather. Home games with Cardiff (08/09) , Hartlepool (09/10), Southampton (10/11) (Boxing Day) & Rochdale (11/12) and away games at Walsall (09/10), Rochdale (10/11) (twice), Hartlepool (10/11) & Chesterfield (11/12). All the grounds these games were meant to take place do not have undersoil heating. However for this coming Saturday Blackburn do have undersoil heating. So as long as it don't rain to waterlog the pitch and the heating is on the pitch should be playable on Saturday. The main worry is probably more the surrounding areas around the ground don't get too snowed up making it to dangerous for loads of fans and safety issues coming into play. There will also be travelling to get there which could be potential fun and games. So hopefully at least with undersoil heating hopefully working with cold weather and snow forecast in many parts of the country let's hope for once we can get a game on when it's freezing weather and we don't have to go up on a Tuesday night. I'll still be there on a Tuesday night regardless. But hoepfully costs of hotels can be avoided. Fingers crossed.

The pitch and weather protection must reach PL standards.
Minus Point: Situated 400 feet above sea level surrounded by bleak high moorland.
At the mercy of inclement weather.
Conclusion: It's a sh!t hole. Avoid.
;o)
If the areas around the ground are safe enough for spectators the game has a good chance of going ahead because of the undersoil heating.
But we will see I suppose.
12460 is the total to beat.
BLACKBURN Rovers’ under fire owners Venky’s are set to be at Ewood Park this weekend – with club matriarch Anuradha Desai preparing for just her second visit since The Walker Trust sold up in November 2010.
Co owners Desai, Balaji and Venkatesh Rao are all understood to be making the journey from India later this week to welcome in new manager Michael Appleton’s regime.
Appleton and his assistant Ashley Westwood will take charge for the first time on Saturday, for the Championship visit of Charlton Athletic, and are set to meet their bosses.
It is believed Venky’s will also attempt to sort out the divide in the hierarchy behind the scenes, with global advisor Shebby Singh’s Rovers future uncertain.
Desai’s only other Rovers visit was for a defeat to Tottenham back in February 2011 – a trip that coincided with the departure of former chairman John Williams.
The Rao brothers have watched Rovers numerous times earlier this campaign but the weekend’s visit will be their first for a couple of months
You should read some of the comments. They sound desperate.
As though anyone is just sitting at home thinking, 'you know what, i'm not doing much today, i really fancy a drive in those freezing, icy, snowy conditions'
