Fancy dress

I've spent the afternoon making a giant Rubik's Cube for an 80s fancy dress surprise birthday party for a mate's 30th on Saturday.

It got me thinking, what's the best fancy dress you lot have ever done yourself, or seen someone else do?

Once went to a sports fancy dress with a lot of mates as dominos. Got big cardboard boxes painted black with white spots.

Great idea! No photos but I went as the devil once, cut a sheep costume (from the bargain bin in a fancy dress shop) in half and sprayed it red for the legs, painted cardboard for the hooves, stick on 'tache, beard and horns and painted myself red from the waist up. I won, but it took three baths to wash off the greasepaint...
  • Seem to do far to many fancy dress nights

You and your Mrs love a bit of dressing up.

    You're like Rodney and Cassandra.

I went as Ruud Gullit to a works do back in the 80's.

My boss gave me a lift but I had made the mistake of blacking up legs and arms as well as face and got it all over his beige velour interior.

Wasn't really what I had in mind when I tried to spice things up a bit

Easiest to stick a used condom on your nose. Then wait for people to ask who you have come as?

Mate if mine turned up to a rugby do dressed in a superman suit whilst sitting in a wheelchair with a drip trolley in tow.
Was a couple of weeks after Christopher Reeve had his accident.

Did we ever see the photos of 'Oggy the Oyster' when he took part in some peculiar Cornish ritual a while ago?

Had a mate who had to play football on a Sunday morning still completely orange from being an Oompa Loompa becuase he couldn;t get the paint off.

Weirdly the oppo didn't take the piss at all so we had to take up the slack, "Man on, Kilroy" etc etc.
  • The Mrs isn't well so I've probably got to walk the 20 mins into town on my own dressed as a giant Rubiks Cube! Then into the pub, hoping I find the others quickly!!

I once turned up with Green face paint from being "The Hulk" the night before, ended up clashing heads and getting a black eye to.

Having won a regional uni football tournament we were invited to quite a swanky black tie awards ceremony. Managed to convince one of the fresher lads that it was fancy dress so he rocked up dressed as a snowman!

Been a mormon and Chilean miner on Halloween. The former was especially fun, people thought I was in my student union drunkenly recruiting.
