Let's say we do have some funds available in January, which player (within reason) would you go for? Which opposition player has impressed against us this season...?
I was very impressed with David Perkins from Barnsley although I'm not sure of he'd fit in a 4-4-2 formation - still worth a punt...
Perkins is a good player but wouldn't suit our style of play right now. A better bet would be his midfield mate Dawson, the ex Orient man. He'd suit us very very nicely
i live near colchester and the word is wordsworth will be going in jan to the highest bidder.perhaps someone like andros townsend on loan from spurs always looks a decent player when hes gone out on loan
Boyd, Wordsworth, Perkins and a ball winning beast to replace our midfield please! A new striker in to replace the outgoing Clarke and probably BWP too
I think Boyd, Wandsworth and Perkins would be good aswell as a young striker!
Some very good names being posted here. Overall I think the one position we could really do with is a CM. Maybe even 2 new CM'S. Defence is OK, plenty of cover there same for up top.
A ball-winning Central Midfielder who can get about the pitch is vital. Theres a big hole in front of the Centre Backs that needs filling and quickly.
George Boyd is also a good shout, as he can play in behind the CF in a 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-1-2 system and allow a change of tactics from time to time. His link-up play is very good at this level.
Only thing that would concern me with Boyd is how he would fit into a 4-4-2 formation for a side that's struggling to find it's feet at this level. Maybe as part of the front two but I wouldn't be comfortable him playing on the left wing as one part of four with our problems in the centre.
Just not Perkins, nothing to do with ability just because a friend of mine told CP to sign him in the Christmas card he sentto the great man, would never hear the end of it despite it being nothing to do with him.
Keiron Richardson is not getting a game at Fulham. Not sure if he's injured or simply out of favour. If the only option is to get in players on loan, at least go for proven Premier League quality. I wonder if he is available and we could afford some of his wages for a month or two? Local boy as well.
