AFC wimbledon online petition

edited March 2007 in General Charlton
as loads of you will have read AFC got a massively over the top points penalty for fielding a player without international clearance despite the fact that they signed him from Cardiff who play in the english league ? also the player was a CAFC old boy jermaine Darlington.

Would be great if we could get as many Charlton as possible to sign up to this petition considering the crap that Wimbledon fans have had to put up with

  • Not Really, rather see Bromley promoted.
  • have already signed
  • so cos you'd rather see bromley promoted badger you agree with the crap that wimbledon fans have had to put up with?

that place in the league is theirs and the sooner they get it back the better in my opinion
  • Bromley and Mark Goldberg deserve nothing
  • I have a big soft spot for Margate who are very much in competition with AFC Wimbledon.

However I have no option but to sign as the disproportionate nature of the punishment is absolutely scandalous in my opinion.

West Ham still seem to have all their points!
  • Well from a personal point of view i would like to see bromlet get promoted, however this is the second time that afc have been penalised, i think it's harsh on them, of course it would be great to see them back with league status,i go to hayes lane when i can and i guess because i'm closer to bromley fc than afc,i'd like bromley to be promoted, will have to wait and see who wins the league, i do think this situation for afc is a farce and i do feel for them.
  • I have every sympathy with Wimbledon. We were taken from SE7 like they were taken from Merton and then up to 'The Roundabout Capital of England'. And those poor fans had to put up with Shithurst Park also. They have my full support. The FA always seem to come down harder on the little clubs. West Ham have only picked up 5 points in the games Tevez and Mascherano were involved in. 3 of those points were against Sheffield United. My worry will Sheffield United get there points back? West Ham will slip back to 15 points. Game Over for them.
  • Have no sympathy for the Dons, will teach them for being so ignorant towards the non league scene.
  • Anyone know when the appeal is being heard?
  • i signed, don't feel you can call yourself a proper football fan if you don't agree the punishment was wrong. The only ones who will disagree with have a self-interest, which just shaows how blinkered some of us can become where football is involved.

    good luck to them.

  • How were AFC Wimbledon ignorant towards the non-league scene?
  • Signed.
This punishment is massively disproportionate for a clerical oversight .... it's not as if there has been corruption, dodgy practices or any suggestion that JD shouldn't have played for them.

By the way they didn't even sign him from Cardiff- he left Cardiff and retired due to injury then starting playing for an amateur team in north London, then AFC signed him up not realising that officially his last team was Cardiff - even though Cardiff no longer held his registration.
  • I have signed. The FA have come up with some baffling decisions this season non more so than how they dealt with Sankofa, their F*** up's should be exposed.
  • Signed - nice to see lots of CAFC have now done the same.
