  • Can't think any further than scoring a big fat zero for Seaborne. You couldn't do as much wrong as he did, especially in the 2nd half, if you tried. Shocking and laughable in the end. Oh my god!

  • Hamer - 7 He was fine.
Solly - 6 He tried hard and maybe we expect too much attacking play from our full-backs.
Morrison - 5 Nowhere near his best and he's been out of form now for a while.
Cort - 7 Still amazed he was left out after Millwall. Proper centre-back.
Seaborne - 4.5 Looked like a league one player at best. No drive at all.
Green - 5 Been out of it for a while and I'd rather Stephens had been subbed so Jackson could have played in CM.
Frimpong - 4.5 One decent tackle...which made him think he should try it again. One paced....slow.
Stephens - 5 Better 2nd half because he had Pritchard showing him the way. It should be the other way about!!! Doesn't seem to know his role....wants to be a water carrier when he should want to be a box to box midfielder. When is he ever going to join in with the forwards?! Couple of good free-kicks.
Haynes - 6 Good penalty and a great pass for Solly to run onto.
Fuller - 6 Tried hard but doesn't look like he can play with a partner.
Hulse - 6 Won lots of headers but suffered from non-existent service. Missed a good chance.
Jackson - 5 Not a left winger. Tries but so slow.
Pritchard - 8 Full of running and tried to get us going. Got to stay in the team now in CM. Let's see if we can develop him into an even better player who can get some goals.
  • Haven't posted in months due to the foul-mouthed insults of CL's resident playground bully. But two sons with more than 50 years watching CAFC between them are home for Xmas and first grandson came to his first-ever match at the Valley today, and so in the limo home to deepest Kent we compiled our collective marks.

When we had done so, the Incorruptible Clan asked if I was going to post our deliberations on CL and I said 'no, I don't go there any more'. When I told them why, they said it was unlike their dad to be bullied and urged me to ''man-up'' (detestably sexist phrase, but theirs not mine).

So here goes. Added comments are an amalgamation of all of three of us . I felt the observations of two sons steeped in Charlton lore and legend but who don’t get to see us play too often were quite illuminating for that very reason.

Grandson , who now lives less than one mile from Upton Park, was kitted out in every piece of clobber the club shop sells to the tune of £200 worth of CAFC branding. Which more than likely means he will get beaten up walking around the streets of Stratford, but at least tells him where his loyalties lie!
    -------------------------------------------------------------

Hamer 7.5 ''Really commands his whole area. The way he ushered the ball out of play right on the edge of the box with their forward bearing down on him was audacious. No margin for error, but he did it brilliantly.'' (son one)

Solly 6.5 ''One of the poorest games he's had for us. Found Martin almost as difficult to cope with as Wiggins did against his old Palace team mates back on that horrible Friday night in September'' (IA)

Morrison 6 ''Seems to have shed a bollock since last time I saw him.'' (son two)

Cort 6 ''Gets his head to most things but it doesn't seem to travel very far. I was only a kid at the time but my memory is that Shirtliff/Thompson/Pates/McLaughlin/Caton used to make those same headers travel three times the distance and turn defence into attack. Now the ball just seems to go up in the air and come right back.'' (son one)

Seaborne 2 'Simon Francis reincarnated, as both tragedy and farce. If CP is going to leave Jackson on the bench, he'd do a better job there, even though he'd be out of position'' (son one). ''Is his nickname Dan Seasick?'' (son two). ''Na na na na na. Na!'' (grandson mouthing one of the handful of words he can at this stage say. We weren't sure who he was talking about, but all three adults concluded that he must have meant Seasick).

Green 5.5 ''Lee Martin used to play as badly as that when he was at Charlton. Now he's turned into their MoM. Perhaps that mean there's still hope for Green...'' (son one)

Frimpong 3 ''You're winding me up that we got him from Arsenal?'' (son two). 'Any similarity with Balotelli ends with the haircut'' ( son one).

Stephens 4 ''He's not really any better than Hollands, is he?'' (son one)

Haynes 6.5 ''Doesn’t look like a natural winger'' (son one). ''You told me he had pace. The best pace he showed was when he ran behind their goal and picked up the ball and placed it for Loach to take the goal kick'' (son two).

Fuller 6.5 ''Class. Three defenders around him and he can still hold the ball up and fend them off until reinforcements arrive'' (son one). ''Looked a bit frustrated, like he's probably used to playing with better players'' (son two)

Hulse 7 ''Never stops working.Great target man for the long ball stuff. Can see why Powell might want to rotate him and Kermogant.'' (son one)

    Jackson 4 ''Anonymous'' (unanimous)

Pritchard 8 ''Why didn’t he start? If we'd had two or three more with that energy and commitment we would have got a point'' (son two)

    Hamer 7- Did nothing wrong
Solly 6- Got beaten a couple of times by Martin , better 2nd half
    Morrison 6
    Cort 6
Seaborne 3-Absolutely terrible, but we have no alternative
Green 5- He is not a left winger!
Frimpong 3- Always sliding in , goes over easily for a "hard man" and doesn't give a damn , at the end of the day he gets to go back to Arsenal
Stephens 4.5- At fault for the second goal , too many miss placed passes
Haynes 7- Good touch and didn't stop running
Fuller 6 - Bit greedy , nicked the ball off of JJ's boot but obviously has class
Hulse 7- Hard worker , offside too often
Jackson 6 nothing of any note
Pritchard 8.5 A bit of fight and passion MOM
  • Hamer 6.5
    Solly 6.5
    Morrison 6
    Cort 6.5
    Seaborne 3.5
    Green 4.5
    Frimpong 5
    Stephens 4
    Haynes 7.5
    Fuller 6
    Hulse 6
    Jackson 6
    Pritchard 7

  • Green 5 Didn't get enough time to make a difference and I want to see him more - he can be a game winner

Wish more people had this view. Changed a lot of matches last year and works well with Yann crosses wise.

    In a descriptive mood today.......

Hamer - 7 - There was nothing he could do about the goals. Fast distribution today to, commanded his area well and possibly save of the season just before the 2nd goal its just a shame the defense didn't follow up the rebound.

Solly - 6.5 - He was good going forward and good defensively, couldn't be quality today because of Green in front of him. Still did well to win the pen to.

Morrison - 6 - Looked better today but still a bit shaky after his recent mistakes.

Cort - 6.5 - Good to see him back and he dominated the air as usual.

Seaborne - 2.5 - That was awful. He didn't nothing right the whole game and couldn't even do the basics and in all seriousness I could've done better and I'm a cyclist. I mean he went to let the ball out of play for two throws that would've been ours and he still managed to get hit by the ball!!! Useless today!!!! Need Wiggins back fast. (Yes has been decent up to this point though but today was a shocker)

Green - 5.5 - He was alright to start with but then switched sides to the left about 20 mins where he faded badly and offered little

Frimpong - 4 - He did one amazing tackle 5 minutes into the game which went to his head. After that he seemed he could make any tackle in the world which resulted in about 5 awful tackles and a penalty to Ipswich. Other than that he did nothing

Stephens - 5.5 - He was the definition of blowing hot and cold today. Some awful give away's and bad passes one minute then a beautiful free kick or cross field ball the next. If he was more consistent he would be class. Also looked alot better with Pritch besides him 2nd half.

Haynes - 8.5 - Was our best player by a mile for the whole game. Tore their right back to shreds to begin with in the first half. They couldn't handle his pace either and he caused them problems the whole game as he constantly wanted to go forward and he chased down everything. Also what a class pen - Joint MOTM

Fuller - 6.5 - Did really well in the first half with a few mazy runs that earnt him a half chance on goal as he provided a spark. Faded a bit in the second though.

Hulse - 6 - Overall he was average as his first touch let him down a few times and he missed that sitter right at the end of the game that probably would've earnded us a point. Still he holds up the ball so well

Jackson - 6 - I thought he did well when he was involved today, some good passes and runs. However he wasn't involved that much....

Pritchard - 8.5 - Made a huge difference with him on the itch in the 2nd half. Dominated their bully N'Daw instantly and put him self about here, there and everywhere. Battled for everything as usual and he showed why he is much better in centre midfield simply because he is class there - Joint MOTM

Completely agree. But his confidence is now shot to bits. Badly managed and soon to be an exAddick I'm afraid. Real shame. Potential match winner if used properly.

  • Thought Powell stood his ground well and impressed
  • Hamer 7 - Can't be blamed for the goals and some excellent saves
Solly 7 - Solid and reliable as always
    Morrison 6.5 - Steady Enough
    Cort 6.5 - Ditto
Seaborn 4 - Poor, Hard to believe that Evina isn't worth a go instead of him
Green 5 - Yet again doesn't do enough
Frimpong 5 - Has got steadily worse over the last few games
Stephens 4.5 - Not his finest hour and badly at fault for their second goal
Haynes 7 - Better than most today, and took the penalty well.
Fuller 6 - Worked Ok but got little service
    Hulse 6 - Ditto
Jackson 6.5 - Not the player he was but did OK today
Pritchard 8 - MOM - Made a real difference when he came on and will surely start against Derby

Hamer 7 couple of good saves
    Solly 6
    Morrison 6
    Cort 6
Seaborne 1- and that's being generous cos its Xmas!
    Green - 5 no more chances-go
Frimpong- 4 go back to the Arse!
Stephens- 5 wants too much time better second half!
    Haynes- 6
Fuller 6 why was he taken off at least he held the ball up!
    Hulse- 6
    Pritchard 8 MOM

so true seabourne is useless no idea why we sign players like that must of been last minuite desperation as many emergency loans are
  • Hamer - 7 - Steady, cant be blamed for the two goals.
Solly - 7 - Not the best game in a Charlton shirt but tried to get things going, how long before he gets fed up with some of the dross in front of him.
Morrison - 6 - Seems to spend more time heading the ball upwards or backwards in recent weeks, doesnt look solid as he did in previous games.
Cort - 6 - looked sluggish today, wander if he ate too much xmas pud.
Seaborne - 0 - This man is worse than kerkar and that is saying something. Totally inept.
Green - 5 - Why play a winger then spend the whole half playing the ball on the opposite side.
Frimpong - 3 - Surely the real Frimpongs twin, rumours are wolves want him in January, goodbye and good riddance.
Stephens - 3 - Sorry this may upset some but he is a good league 1 player, Drury Ipswich's no 17 had him beat all afternoon.
Haynes - 7 - Tries his best but had dreadful support from Seaborne. Great penalty.
Fuller - 6 - Has some nice touches but his legs cant keep going and he shouts and balls at other players, when he has'nt done much himself.
Hulse - 6 - Missed an easy chance near the end but wasnt given enough service.
Jackson - 6 - Steady 2nd half but dont think he would have added anything different had he started.
Pritchard - 8 - MOM by a country mile, tried to get the team to believe in themselves. Like Jackson doesnt do enough to consider himself a first pick in every match.

Kermogant - 6 unlucky to have handball against him in the 2nd half when it hit his shoulder. But the lino east stand sde was abysmal.

hamer 7.5 - nothing he could do about the goals plus a good 1 on 1 save
solly 6.5 - good going foward but poor defensively martin had him on a couple occasions however won the pen
morrison 5.5 - not his best day looked a bit slow off the mark on occasions but was overly exposed in the first half
cort 6.5 - solid few good clearances and tackles
seabourne 2 - really dont rate him maybe it was just a shocker all he did was kick it up the line or misjudge it and allowing it to hit him and go out for their throw
green 5 - didnt look to get involved and lacked decisiveness in attack when he did break free
frimpong 5 - didnt do too much but couple good moment apart from a brainless tackle for the pen
stephens 5.5 - a bit slow on the ball at times which proved costly but came very close to scoring on 3 different occasions
haynes 6 - nothing special pace proved a threat as usual
fuller 7 - held up the ball well and scared the defenders when taking them on perhaps a bit greedy at times
hulse 6.5 - held the ball up well and good overall play shame about the chance he missed as he was a bit slow on his feet to get to it
pritchard 8 - mom good passing and great tackling one tackle on their centre mid was outstanding and i dont think he took too well to it afterwards
jackson 6 - little effect but did improve the midfield as a whole
  • Hamer 7. Did well when needed. No chance with the goals.
Solly 6. Skinned by Martin in first half but recovered in the second .
    Morrison 6. Did ok.
Cort 6.5. Better of the two central defenders today.
Seabourne 3. Confidence drained out of him as the game wore on. Felt sorry for him in the end.
Green 4.5. A lack of defensive cover saw Solly getting turned insideout . poor overall display.
Stephens 5. Never my favorite and never will be . Average at the very best.
Frimpong 5. Never got into it.
    Haynes 6. Well taken penalty.
Hulse 7. Did very well today. Held it up nicely and brought a lot of others into play.
Fuller 5. Poor game from him. took it off JJ as he was about to pull the trigger. Ugh
Jackson 6. Played well. Got into the box a lot which was sadly lacking in the first half.
Pritchard 8 . Showed what energy commitment and desire can achieve. Now if only they all had this!!
  • Hamer- 7, did ok and unlucky with the 2nd goal as he made a great save
Solly- 6.5, thought he wasn't involved enough although not really his fault
Morrison-6 par performance, headers kept finding the opposition though
    Cort-6. same as Morro
Seaborne-3.5, absolute toilet! played like he was drunk. 2 occasions he went to let the ball go out of play but it hits him, hope he never plays for us again
Green-5.5, His chance to make a claim for his place, failed and didnt really get going at all
Frimpong 5.5,Another below par performance. Sloppy for penalty as the player was going away from the goal and didnt get involved enough, i felt N'dau dominated our midfield
Stephens- 6.5, though he should some good bits of quality but again overun in the middle and at times seemed on his own
Haynes-7.5 looked our best outlet, worked hard and out of position but like him alot
Fuller-7, again worked hard but no support from others. Didn't do alot wrong and showed a bit of passion trying to bollock Seabourne
Hulse-6.5, Did ok, won a few headers and looked a bit quicker then the norm vs opposition defence although maybe they are just slower then normal
Jackson-6.5, Solid performance when he come on. Nearly got in the right place but fuller took it from him
Pritchard-7, Did well when he come on, seemed composed. Maybe how bad we were 1st half made him look better though
