  • OP can you find one with me in please for my scrap book?

Sheffield is a great city, just a shame about S6 eh?!
  • And they still have trams.

So that's why Piggy felt the need to go to Croydon, it reminded him of home.
  • Always nice to share the 'banter' with away fans. Very easy to lose touch with the fact that all other teams fans live and breath their club and town as much as we do .... So on that note I will say Happy Christmas to OP, thanks for popping in and I will now pop off for dinner and get royally pissed :-)
  • can see me and our other 3. i did think that the home end was very empty , so nothing to boast about
  • Sheffield really is NOT a s*****ole. Ok maybe I am a bit biased...

Anyway to answer Piggys question I can be spotted wearing the 100% Support T shirt supplied by Henry.
  • Bore off Piggie ain't you got a wife to beat?
  • 5th Sept 2011 - CAFC v Sheff Weds - Away fans = 691

    14 Jan 2012 - Sheff Weds v CAFC - Away fans = 1,494

Comparing a Monday night televised game with a 3pm Saturday kick off. Good effort.
  • Yeah to double your amount of fans is massive...

It's not like any of you have jobs to go to.

I have told you before Pig it's because London is a great place with lots of other things going on (that's all year not just Christmas) where as Sheffield is a shit hole, ask Owlstalk he lives down south, as so many of your lot now do.

How many on here live in Sheffield? ask them what they think of Sheffield, and next time you visit Sheffield stay for a few days pal, you would definitely change your mind, it's not like Leeds or Manchesters dull holes.
I've been there once and will remain once. Enjoyed the Blades hospitality though. Good bunch.
Will be good to see Wednesday back where they belong at the end of the season.

Some of us do, how else would you get your McDonalds coffee.
  • Oh so a live game early in the season is a reason for a low turnout ?

How about a match played 3 days before Christmas and 1 week after another trip to the dirty north. Does that count ?
  • To be fair Sheffield's Travelodge have quality showers. Wouldn't swap there for York tho.

I can confirm Sheffield is a shit hole, I have stayed & I have seen. Two best things I found was a dirt cheap ale house in town & the peak district just a few miles away.

I like Manchester, even better after the IRA blew the city centre up, would do wonders for your city centre.

Very shallow view, I've stayed in Croyden, does it mean all of Londons like that?

Sheffield is the greenest city in Europe in terms of parks trees open space but with the added luxury of a city life, it also boasts the highest number of postgraduates from outside the city staying on and living here more than any other UK university city! all facts.

I do wonder where they get those Uni stats from. I went to Sheffield Uni. Had a great 3 years to be fair. After I finished 3 of my mates stayed on as they had enjoyed it so much. Trouble was after 12months they were all in London as, either they had not found jobs in Sheffield or the money was so pony that once they had some experience they moved away. It was a brain drain really, can't imagine it has changed in the 15 years since. Have to say I did enjoy my time there, the Peak District is fab and the people I met friendly on the whole (although never could get used to full grown men calling me "duck" or "love"...)! The only anti southerner bit was from the cabbies who were total assholes.

15 Years is quite a long time mate but, I can counteract that argument by saying i've know people go and work in london and now the're back up here because although the wages were good the cost of living there were shockingly high.

Duck is a Derbyshire term as well, you'll hear it more in Chesterfield, Derby then you would here.

    Oh Sheffield is wonderful.......

  • The one without the shirt on, if you can spot me, (centre of pic).
  • No wonder they ran out of pies on Saturday, is he having triplets?
  • WTF is growing out of your belly button?
  • Won't be long before he comes back on here. A good win for them today.

572 official figure, fair play all things considered.
  • I'd say that was about right. for some reason the steards seemed intent on filling up that middle block before letting people sit elsewhere.
  • They think they can control a crowd better that way, but its the best view anyway.
  • Is that the worse you've had all season?
  • I think so yeah.
