One I haven't seen mentioned was the nil nil up at Newcastle 2nd game in the premiership when Rufus got sent off early on. Certainly showed a lot of spirit that day.
..............and we nearly won the game with Morts crossing for S. Jones to force their keeper into a point blank save!
Lawrie Abrahams posted this earlier, but it's worth another vote. For me, the outstanding draw - both in atmosphere and importance - was the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, in May 1987. We needed a point to stay up - Chelsea needed to win - and we got it courtesy of a Paul Miller equalizer - a looping, deflected 'shot' over Kevin Hitchcock in the Chelsea goal. You could taste the tension that day. We were on an open terrace behind one of the goals. Miller's goal was scored at the end opposite to where we were standing. Unbridled joy at the end. Chelsea had to travel to Blackburn in the play-offs, if I recall. A fantastic day for the club. Charlton under Lennie Lawrence was never dull.
