  • The 'Gimme My Money Back' Award: Ted
    Most Over-hyped: End Of Watch
    Most Underrated: not sure
The Brett Ratner Award For Averageness: The Hunger Games
Instant Oscar Contender (Performance or Film): Looper
  • Haven't seen much this year, but unfortunately I saw one of the biggest turkeys ever on Saturday - Cloud Atlas. massive budget, stellar cast, utterly dire, as if the directors wanted to achieve their fantasy of making six different films at the same time . Unless you are quite sure, avoid like the plague, it is three hours long, and you can't get those hours back.
  • tbh i'm really looking forward to the next month or so of film. The Hobbit part 1 release and Django Unchained
  • End of Watch was my favourite.
Most overhyped was The Dark Night Rises.
  • This year has been great for cinema - the box office both in the UK, the US and globally will be the biggest ever in one calendar year. Three or four amazing films, but also a pile of shite too.

    Favourite Movie: The Avengers
The 'Gimme My Money Back' Award: Paranorman
    Most Over-hyped: John Carter
    Most Underrated: Argo
The Brett Ratner Award For Averageness: Hunger Games
Instant Oscar Contender (Performance or Film): Argo

  • I love film but lack of money and a reliable babysitter means I (we) have only seen one film released at cinema this year - skyfall, and I would put that in the most overhyped category.
  • Being a poor student I've seen very little this year, so I can only fill in a few categories:
    Favourite Movie: Moonrise Kingdom
The 'Gimme My Money Back' Award: ?
Most Over-hyped: The Dark Knight Rises/The Avengers
    Most Underrated: ?
The Brett Ratner Award For Averageness: The Grey
Instant Oscar Contender (Performance or Film): Moonrise Kingdom (won't win anything but should do)

Really looking forward to Django Unchained.
  • Favourite Movie: Skyfall
The 'Gimme My Money Back' Award: End of Watch
Most Over-hyped: Avengers...Good but not 'amazing'
    Most Underrated: The Campaign
The Brett Ratner Award For Averageness: Looper
Instant Oscar Contender (Performance or Film): The Dark Knight Rises
  • The last film I see at the pictures was Who Framed Roger Rabbit at the Woolwich Odeon so I'd better sit this one out!
  • Favourite Movie: The Hobbit
The 'Gimme My Money Back' Award: Johnny Depps vampire thing
    Most Over-hyped: Bourne
    Most Underrated: The Hobbit
The Brett Ratner Award For Averageness: Bourne
Instant Oscar Contender (Performance or Film): The Hobbit

No, but I was stuck in a public toilet for 45 mins the other week! True story....
  • I have been to the pictures since, but I find it hard to get past the hot-dog seller.
  • Favourite Movie: Avengers Assemble
The 'Gimme My Money Back' Award: Prometheus
Most Over-hyped: Prometheus - stayed away from any trailers, reviews etc. only to be let down by the weight of underwhelming half way through it.
Most Underrated: Between The Raid or Troll Hunter I would say Troll Hunter by a nose. A big lumpy Troll nose.
The Brett Ratner Award For Averageness: Prometheus.
Instant Oscar Contender (Performance or Film): TBC.........
  • We dont have a cinema near us, but anything with the word "Twighlight" in it is shit!
  • The 'Gimme My Money Back' Award: Rampart
    Most Over-hyped: Skyfall
    Most Underrated: Dredd and Chronicle
The Brett Ratner Award For Averageness: Safe - a better title would be Meh
Instant Oscar Contender (Performance or Film): The Raid: Redemption.
  • only seen Skyfall and some film about a hotel set in India.

    Favourite Movie: Skyfall
Gimme my money back: the other one

That's interesting. I figured it's either going to be a powerhouse classic of epic proportions, or utter drivel! Guess it's the latter... So that's two good films out of six for the Wachowski brother... and that's not including V For Vendetta!!
