Pub Advice Needed For Saturday

I'm meeting up with a couple of Brighton-supporting mates on Saturday, and as I'm not a local, I was hoping the CAFC brain trust could help me figure out where to go. We're looking for somewhere decent for lunch, and/ or a pub that suits home and away fans... Any advice is gratefully received.

  • I'd go to Greenwich mate. The Mitre's good, shows whatever game is on the telly and the food is decent. Can jump on at train at 2.30 or 2.40 and comfortably be in your seat by kick off.
  • The Pelton Arms, absolute no brainer, great food, ales and music, been going there pre-match for a couple of years now.
  • Queen Anne in Maidstone
  • If you want walking distance then I'd say the Anchor and Hope. If they're getting the train in I'd say Borough would be your best bet. If I were them I'd not want to get a train to London Bridge, then get off somewhere else for a pint, then get on another train somewhere else. At least Borough or Charlton are en route.
  • Greenwich, Spanish Galleon, good fish & chips (pricey though)

Got barred from there about 15-20 years ago, removing a palarse mirror from above the bar, some people are so touchy!!

  • Lost hour in Greenwich
  • The fox under the hill. SHooters hill Road, Good reasonably priced pub food and beer. allow 20 min's walk to ground.

  • If you want walking distance then I'd say the Anchor and Hope.

Anchor & Hope Lane Charlton, on the river front. 10-15 min walk from ground. Eaten in there loads of times & very good. It's quite small though, so you'd best be there by 1pm latest to get a seat inside, preferably 12.30.
